About 2.0 version
Welcome to version 2.0! It’s packed with changes compared to the last one, but trust me, they’re all upgrades. I’ve been torturing this model for ages before giving it the green light to meet the world. Realism got a serious facelift, but don't worry, it can still rock any other style you throw at it.
It swallows LoRAs for Chroma like breakfast. When it comes to Flux.1 - Krea, it sweats a little bit more, but hey, it gets the job done! For this version, just stick to the basic ComfyUI workflow to keep your sanity, though feel free to experiment with the rest.
My personal sweet spot is euler_ancestral (er_sde) - beta, 10-14 steps with 2-2.6 CFG. But hey, tastes are like prompts, everyone has their own. For example, if you use ddim_uniform, you can crank the CFG all the way up and watch the camera run away into a wide shot. As for aspect ratios and resolutions? I'm currently in an open relationship with all of them; they all work great. Quick edit, you can use seed_2 or _3 for better results but at a heavy speed cost.
If your GPU is crying for mercy, do yourself a favor: generate at 512 or 768, pick your favorites, and upscale them later (fun fact: this thing is an absolute beast of an upscaler).
A couple of pro-prompting tips: use (candid photography) if you want to keep things real and avoid getting accidental cartoons. Keep in mind that (candid photo) is a different beast, less stylized, more of an 'amateur holding a phone' vibe. I always use "motion blur" in negative, except when I want a more amateurish feel.
If you enjoy playing with it, don't be shy, drop your findings and your best generations below. Enjoy!
Chroma Merge
This model is a custom merge designed to streamline the power of Chroma for everyday use. By combining Chroma HD with Cenkrechro V25 and GonzaloMoChroma, I’ve aimed to create a "best of all worlds" experience that retains the iconic character and deep knowledge of the base Chroma model while significantly improving generation speed and ease of use.
What’s inside:
Base: Chroma HD
Additions: Cenkrechro V25 & GonzaloMoChroma
Optimizations: Integrated LoRAs for improved anatomy and lighting consistency.
Why this merge?
In my opinion, Chroma is the best model currently available.. My goal is to bring more creators into the Chroma community by providing a versatile, "plug-and-play" version of this incredible architecture.
Recommended Settings:
Sampler: er_sde
Steps: 10-14
CFG Scale: 4-5 (with the png workflow)
I suggest the GNER-T5 clip
I hope you enjoy the results! If you like the model, please share your generations in the gallery below—I’d love to see what you create.

Does it need / work with an unchained T5 text encoder or is it unnecessary ?
I use the GNER-T5, in my opinion its the best.
@panorios Is there a special way of installing it, do you need to modify something in ComfyUI config ? I'm kinda new with Clip settings.
@Elmer588 would love to see a workflow with the best encoder included
@Elmer588 No, nothing special, just use it in clip.
@undertheblacksunIf you open one of my images in a new window and download it, you can drag it in comfy and use the workflow. If you don't have the er_sde sampler, you can use ddim.
Thanks for trying and sharing.
I was curious about how this merge solved the issue of CenKreChro being a distilled model... Sadly the answer seems to be that it just doesn't. It's not a bad merge, but it destroys the undistilled nature of Chroma, causing that any CFG above 1 starts to burn the results badly. For some styles it can be fine, but anything closer to realism... not so much. CFG of 4-5 cause the plasticky oversaturated results of the examples or sometimes worse, while lowering the CFG solve this but decreases prompt adherence and negative prompt looses effect. I was able to sort of solve this problem with this extension, setting the skimmed CFG to 1-2 while maintaining whatever real CFG I wanted: https://github.com/Extraltodeus/Skimmed_CFG
But still... Not ideal. It is a lot faster than vanilla Chroma, though, and that's nice. It also seems to keep LoRA compatibility quite well.
Edit: I have noticed the higher I can push the CFG for photography with realistic enough results is around 3.5. Just sharing the info in case someone finds it useful.
Thank you for your input. have you tried the png workflow. It solves the cfg issue, also, try er_sde and for higher cfg ddim, though ddim needs more steps.
deis_2m/sigmoid_offset, SFG 2.5 is giving me the most glorious crisp realistic images.
Q8 would be appreciated
Sorry, I'm an idiot, I don't now how. I hope someone can help with that.
Hands down the best Chroma model. Thanks. Not sure how you managed to create this, but it kicked Chroma into overdrive for me and I already loved it.
That's great! The purpose was to make it easy for everyone to use Chroma.
This has just become my main model. Thank you a lot for your effort, I hope we can even see even more improvements in the future along with your experience.
Thank you for your feedback, really glad you liked it.
Can we have an FP8 to try?
I just uploaded an fp8 version.
@panorios Thank you!!!
