Adds contrast, detail, and quality improvements to hires fix. Improves hands a bit. Gives more realistic skin textures on photorealistic models. (Scroll down to see another post with still comparisons of the animated images.)

    Important generation notes:

In the example images, this LoRA was only enabled during the Hires Fix step. I've had very good results enabling it for both passes (in which case it makes generations more dramatic and vibrant), but it does alter composition somewhat, which makes direct comparison harder.

If you want to run this LoRA during your hires fix only, you can download this a1111 extension here:

    https://github.com/cheald/sd-webui-loractl

...and add the LoRA to your positive prompt like this: <lora:EnvyBetterHiresFixXL01:0:hr=1>

(Or just add it like a normal LoRA to use it during both passes.)

In the prompt of a example picture from your EnvyTurboAgendaXL02 i saw this: <lora:EnvyBetterHiresFixXL01:0:hr=1>. Question is what effect has writing 0:hr=1 instead of =1?

With the extension "LoRa Control" mentioned in the description that syntax activates the lora only during the hires fix steps and not before. If you activate it normally it will also play a role in the composition of the image.

Where/how would a lora be added to only affect the high-res step fix in comfyui?

@granz33 For comfyui, you have to set it up manually in your workflow so that it's only enabled during your hires pass. Make it so that the model goes through the lora node when it's linked to your hires fix, but not your lowres pass.

The program I use to create these messes up the metadata and incorrectly identifies it as a 1.5 lora. I'm still waiting on a fix, but for now just type it manually or temporarily load a 1.5 checkpoint so you can find it.

made a small upscale test with this lora, have to state obvious thing.
any text in promt changes output image, even unsignificant one, like "0000" as the last line, changes output a little. so, if u use "generate forever" feature, keep lora in prompt at all times, even if u don't plan to upscale all the images

Could a person enable this LoRA only in hires fix by copying the original prompt into the hires fix prompt box, but adding the LoRA tag at the end? I would think that would effectively do the same thing, no?

It depends on how a1111 processes hires fix prompts, but it would certainly be a reasonable thing to try. I'd test it out with everything else being exactly the same and see if you see an improvement.

For some reason this doesn't show up as an available LoRa for me on XL models, using Forge. any ideas?

Go into your settings and turn on the option to display all loras.

Things that worked: Hires text encoder and unet manipulation with this lora.

Things that did not work: Dynamic Lora Weights on non-hires lora's.

Basically, every other lora besides this one didn't work with the dynamic lora weights plugin on the forge version of the webui. I attempted to "fix" it, but I soon realized that it's a compatibility issue with it expecting the AUTOMATIC1111 webui and not the forge version, which I use. It expects the AUTOMATIC1111 version of the "extensions-builtin" folder. So, it is impossible to get that plugin to work for the forge version unless the plugin author or someone else that gets permission, publishes a fork of the plugin for the forge version of the webui. Maybe someone with more familiarity with how forge works would know how to do this. But I just got lost on why adding the packages from the AUTOMATIC1111 to the forge version started to break things.
