so the intended workflow here would be to feed it whatever image already scaled to 4k and then have it detail it correctly via the lora?

The name is kind of misleading. You don't actually have to upscale anything. It just adds details and unblurs without needing to increase resolution. I have found success with putting in a low rez image and using resize image node at 1328x1328 Euler_Ancestral or Res 2s and FlowMatchEulerDiscreteScheduler or Beta57.

Are you people blind or something. This just slathers the ai feel and genuinely lowers detail, specifically a lot of high frequency detail. Not to mention the brightness and color shift. It is laughable at how bad this lora is as an upscaler. Upscale means more detail, not remove artifacts and replacing them with something worse. Qwen is not the right tool for this and I pity that you spent your time and resources doing such a bad job. You tried but it failed, so why upload it? Do you need glasses? Now any number of people have access to this to create endless horrible images. This is not an upscaler, do better. Maybe upload a simple anime photo again next time, then it'd be unnoticable how bad it is
