@Goon_69420 - right, of course, but I collect files... movies, tv shows, music... etc. I have several terabytes of loras dating back to summer 2022. The actual original file name is sacred and should literally never be altered in terms of file preservation and posterity - for determining the identity of a file the OG name is a necessary metric. So yes, of course I can do whatever I want... but I'm just one of many people who will download the file. You are the original source. Re-naming it is a practical solution in the short term for files I actively look at. But my bandwidth is shite, and I often download a selection of loras every day, meaning I initiate downloads which are not done for hours. So when I download 17 loras starting at 4pm and they are not finished downloading until 9pm... sometimes I don't get a chance to look at every single lora and the corresponding download page to verify that the name makes logical sense. And then... if civit deletes the files or you delete the files... I am left to guess and use hashes and hope for the best when it comes time to try to use the lora in terms of prompts and triggers and strength. I shouldn't have to sift through my downloaded files trying to identify them. Movies and tv shows and music and almost all other loras in existence plainly state their name and include helpful information, minimally the base model. Re-naming files breaks continuity and muddies origins and makes later file organization imperfect.

@trains_r_noisy yes this cannot be overstated enough, I am sick of lazy filenames. Civitai could invoke a convention automatically to make it easier on everyone but as is, it's just a mess
