@SSA__AAX I mean: nobody use PNG files, since Auto1111 can be set to save JPG files in the settings menu!
Check it! ( JPG file have same quality but are 8 time smaller, they will save a lot of space on your HD! )

@settima_ai I was using the jpg setting for about a month once I found out but ultimately went back to png. Jpg saves space but applications like discord, twitter, etc, often give far worse 'preview' images. It shows full quality in full view still, but you can't always guarantee someone's gonna go the extra mile.

@cookiecat I understand. In this case I suggest the utility "PNG2JPG". It's the only one I know capable to convert without losing the prompt inside. So, you can use PNG while working on. In a second time, you can convert to JPG and store your images in much smaller files.

@settima_ai png is uncompressed, jpeg isn't - there is a difference in quality, and often a massive one

@teeea That's is what I was believing for months, me too. Just do the conversion then try to guess what is the PNG and what is the JPG. The utility is JPG quality configurable, but I found at 86% of quality I'm fully satisfied and files are 1/8 of the original size! Most important the prompt is still inside the file, so I can reupload it with Auto1111 and regenerate it new, or take it as base for doing some variations...
