Saw someone elsewhere found Grok was surprisingly good at turning images into Valkyria Chronicles style, thought it was an interesting idea to teach Illustrious, and decided to try it. Came out way better than I expected.

Caution: Not all checkpoints understand "3D" well. Gehenna is my go to for this type of image but I'm sure they may be even better.
Not trained with, sometimes works: Removing "3D" sometimes results in a good stand in for Valkyria Chronicles 3 style cutscene stills, despite none being in the data. This however makes for very inconsistent gens with a relatively high rate of minimal style influence. Even higher without "white border"?. Seems to work better on male characters? Could be checkpoint dependent? See pinned post in gallery for examples of this.
Made with 134 screenshots taken from an all cutscenes video of first game (because it was easier and quicker than playing the game again), mostly auto-labeled with some corrections and consistency tweaks. Was surprised how solid this was at the first epoch, since styles normally take a while to get going. Maybe someday Sega will remove the malware from the fourth game so I can actually play it?
The pointy chins is a feature of the art style and can't really be removed without no longer being VC1. Even child NPCs in the ending have them!
