about: insight
sometimes something small can mean everything.
that is the essence of insight.
the in-between.
the quiet space where meaning appears.
as AI artists…
do we need to choose?
clear or brushed lines,
illustrated or painted,
one view or many,
sharp or blurred?
between what is immediately visible (in sight)
and what quietly emerges as meaning (insight),
there may be a space.
insight in sight
between light and shadow,
between closeness and distance,
between pose and flow.
a perspective that leaves room for many readings.
in sight insight
intimacy.
state.
essence.
gaze.
light.
a play with perception.
insight as a model
a dialogue partner in a visual playground.
goal:
have fun ☺

"insight is tinkered with love for duality —~
for tension, contrast, and interplay
AI art allows seemingly opposing qualities
to be drawn at the same time:
soft and sharp, still and moving,
this is my way of seeing the space of possibilities in AI art —~
and insight is a model shaped from my point of view as an AI artist ☺
insight lives in the tiny moment inbetween where dualities touch
—~
through depth and perspective,
a sense of motion
within a frame."

deep🎃
thank you ^^
I really try… because “depth” is actually one of the core parts of this model ^.^ a little play with depth and perception.
so this means a lot to me :)
Excuse my immense ignorance, but what exactly does this checkpoint do compared to other Illustrious checkpoints?
Hey ☺ no worries at all —~ that’s actually a really valid question.
To be honest, I don’t really approach models through comparison.
What I can share is the intention behind this model:
Insight is a concept-driven model —~
shaped by a specific way of seeing and a distinct visual language,
through depth and perspective as part of its visual expression.
Its core is about how it sees and interprets.
One of the core aspects is depth —~
and how the model draws it into the image.
Much of it moves within duality —~
the meeting points that might seem opposite at first glance:
blur vs. focus, background vs. subject, clarity vs. softness.
Another key aspect is how it responds to prompts:
the model doesn’t treat tags as isolated elements, but interprets them in relation to each other —~ more like a connected thought than a checklist.
So in a way, it tries to translate
a described idea → into a visual expression,
rather than just assembling elements.
I don’t want to label it as “perfect” —~
what interests me more is the imperfect.
As an “artist,” this is exactly where I explore boundaries —~ and the spaces in between and beyond them.
That’s where, for me, the play with perception and perspective emerges
as part of the visual language.
And that’s also how insight came into being —~
to keep those points of intersection in view.
I want to show that opposites, at least in AI art, don’t have to be an either-or,
but that these in-between states are what make things interesting —~ for me, personally ^^
These kinds of thresholds —~
maybe unthinkable in reality —~
but artistically, through their simultaneous existence,
they open up a new space ^^
And some parts of that are honestly hard to summarize briefly —~
because there’s more depth to it than a quick comparison can capture.
If you’re curious, I wrote an article that goes deeper into the artistic intention behind it ☺

—~ it’s less about “what it does better”,
and more about how it perceives.
insight & in sight.
so ^^ to answer your question from another perspective:
If you’re into duality,
if you like still frames that still carry a sense of movement through blur applied with intention,
if you enjoy a mix of illustrated and brushed aesthetics,
if you like anime but with a more realistic interpretation of motion —~
and if you like a model that reads your prompt as a whole and translates it into an image,
more like a connected idea than separate tags —~
like turning a picture in your mind, described in words, into a visual expression ^^
and if you enjoy the play of depth of field —~
where focus and blur begin to touch
then insight might be something for you.

☺ Ps:
these images ( 🍰 https://civitai.com/posts/27941877 & ⚖️ https://civitai.com/posts/27957837 ) might give a small glimpse of what I was trying to put into words in that tiny “novel” above :D
I tried to gently weave that little detail into the model —~
so it’s not something you have to tag,
but something that can emerge on its own ^^
I don’t know if it’s anything special —~
but it’s something I really focused on while merging, especially this aspect ^^
At its core, depth in insight exists on two levels:
visually — in how it’s drawn into the image,
through focus, detail, and composition,
and interpretatively —~ in how the model understands a prompt
and translates it as a connected whole.
So, to sum up that little “novel”:
what makes insight special?
Not depth as a feature ~ but depth as behavior.
The model decides on its own how depth emerges —~
based on the overall context.
Not just “depth_of_field, blurry_background”,
but rather:
“what does this scene mean ~ and how does its spatial depth feel?”
I don’t really want to comment on how it differs from other models,
because I believe every artist follows their own intention and way of seeing ^^
But this is what makes insight special to me ~
insight, and in sight.
Maybe what makes it special sparks beneath the surface…
or maybe precisely in~between?
And isn’t that, in itself, also a form of depth?
In the way something is perceived… ;)
So maybe the question is:
how do we see depth?
insight?
in sight?
…or both at once? :)
