I used to have some friends who were really into crypto, though they eventually did fall into online gambling, I figure it's the same concept essentially.

But what does bitcoin mining even do? I know folding at home calculates stuff for medical research, and I did use to do that for piracy websites because they'd give you download credits in like, 2005, and I was a little babby boy that had no money.

But does anyone know what this shit even does? Or what it's for? I heard it apparently is about processing bank transactions, but am I a bit stupid here or do banks not have server farms for their stuff. Why would a bank be a part of a scheme they can't entirely control, controlling the most fundamental part of their business.

Not to mention meme coins. Like, You just arbitrarily say 'I have 10,000 supply' and you just do? For no reason?

I genuinely don't know how people think any of this has any value, I'm a semi-economist and did read the bitcoin white paper, but it all sounds like a ponzi scheme to me? You put money in, others put money in, and it only has value because people put money in. It's like a parody of stocks where the stocks are tied to zero collateral.

Money is supposed to be a translation of the value of a persons time. But crypto is apparently the value of the time of input from a machine? Why in the ever-loving hell would I value the time of a machine? I don't even value the time of my clothing washing machine to fix it.

Crypto can't even make you cum. At least Civit's degenerative art production provides a meaningful service to society by making you squirt goo and giving me the opportunity to flirt with you.
