Aquiessence from Lady Death

Aquiessence from the comic Lady Death: The Rapture (1990s), part of the dark fantasy Lady Death comic series centered on the immortal antiheroine caught between Heaven, Hell, and supernatural war, she is an angelic figure created as one of two immortal agents meant to enforce the prophecy of the Seventh Seal during the coming Judgement War. She represents Heaven’s side opposite Demonatrix, who represents Hell, and her purpose is to force the Seal-breaker into serving Heaven if they refuse to choose a side willingly. When Lady Death breaks the Seventh Seal, Aquiessence appears with Demonatrix and demands her submission, using beauty, seduction, and the power of her Divine Kiss to try to enslave Lady Death to Heaven. Her attempt nearly succeeds, but Lady Death’s will allows her to resist, leading Aquiessence to attack more directly despite being outmatched in combat. During the struggle, Lady Death turns Aquiessence and Demonatrix against each other, causing Aquiessence to be struck by Hell’s brand and caught in the clashing energies of Heaven and Hell, later appearing in other Lady Death material as one of Lady Death’s battlemaidens.
