This is for those who prefer fishcake over radish.

In the 1100s, fishcakes were made by grilling minced fish on skewers, shaped like cattail ears.

These hollow, cylindrical fishcakes were initially called "kamaboko", but when kamaboko with a wooden board emerged in the 1300s, they began to be known as "chikuwa".

Dengaku originally referred to a dance performed during rice planting to pray for fertility, but in the 1600s, grilled Dengaku came to be known as "Dengaku", and boiled Dengaku was referred to as "Oden".

Although the pronunciation is similar, it has no connection to those who use Yggdrasil as firewood and await Ragnarok.
