Ofuda-san
Ofuda-san, or Rashōmon-no-Kiki-hime, as she insists on being called, was among the most feared demons of the Heian era, until an unknown onmyōji sealed her away. Two ofuda talismans mark her face: one pasted to her forehead, hanging down over her face, the other sealing her eyes. They've been burning her every second for the past eight centuries.
Despite all that, she's mostly comic relief. The humor comes from her motor-mouth delivery, her complete inability to stay quiet, and her endless pleas to have the ofuda removed. They were only temporary, you see, her sentence expired ages ago, honest. As for the onmyōji who placed them: he dies a different death in every version of her story. He drowned. He froze in the mountains. He ate badly prepared fugu. She's still working on it.
Ofuda-san is a character from my light novel "Nanako no Disuko Jinja" and stars in her own spinoff story, "Ofuda-san Wants This Taken Off Her"
