(10/14) NEWEST COMFYUI 0.40 version sucks. It breaks a lot of workflows. Don't update if you can avoid it. Let them fix their shit.

This advanced filmmaker's workflow cleanly and quickly generates 3 low resolution sample preview gens, allowing you to select your favorite to then take to upscale finalization. The workflow has every feature an AI filmmaker could need, and easily produce the highest quality and resolution Minimax is capable of. It comes equipped with all quality of life features, the top known speed ups, and many options, from seamless video continuation to custom audio, to frame interpolation to go from 24 FPS to 48-60. Everything is here!

This particular Turbo LoRA is my favorite. I recommend 6-8 steps if at 1.0 strength, or 8-10 steps if using at 0.6-0.8 strength. If you're upscaling, 6 first pass + 3 upscale pass works well.

If you use ref2va or Singularity, this is great too:

    Description

9/7/26: Replaced Zironic's Sparse Attention speedup with new Comfy-core Block Attention speedup. Update your ComfyUI to get this node.

    Overhauled almost everything this time!

    • removed Sol Attention and replaced with Zironic's Sparse Attention node

    • improved generation speed by disabling Kijai's Model Previewer by default (made gens 10% slower)

    • reworked Seamless Video Continuation (now has a frame blending function that makes it even more seamless). Note that this option is now SINGLE PASS ONLY, no upscaling! Before the continuations weren't seamless due to issues with the latent size change.

    • added a prompt IDE for better prompt-writing

    • More clarity to the UI, which options are selected, positioning, etc.

If you update to one version of this workflow, let this one be it!

They're completely different, if you can't tell the difference at a glance then you sir are either blind or downloaded 1.2.2 twice! lol.

The changes are listed in the version details. Basically everything was overhauled.

I just wanted to let you know that your workflow is absolutely the best out there—it’s the only one I use. I think you’ve already seen some of my latest videos, and thanks to your workflow I was even able to make longer ones. One of them reached 60k views on Facebook, which is incredible, and it’s all thanks to you and your amazing work. ❤️

I don't know what has changed (I haven't updated the workflow from 1.0, and I haven't updated Comfy) but I can no longer upscale. It'll be going along fine, then it just stops making progress. Using only 41.9 GB of 80GB system RAM. GPU is at 100 percent usage. 15.4/16 GB video memory used, but the temperature drops to 46c and it never goes anywhere. These are .3MP, trying to upscale at 1.5

Well I turned the shift node on. That's the only change I've made. Even the prompt and starting image are unchanged. I was testing the shift. But now if I bypass that node it still fails to complete an upscale.

I think I'll upgrade the workflow. Maybe that other SLA node will miraculously fix this somehow.

Actually while typing this it completed another step! At 635.35s/it. Eh.

1.5 MP is just pretty big for a 16 GB card, that's all. Maybe not if you are genning 5 seconds, but my guess is you're going for 10 or more. It's overwhelming your system. The v1.5 version has more VRAM options enabled and configured by default. Make sure to update the Latent Upscaler node too, as it also has a VRAM assisting option now as well. You could also consider the startup flags --disable-pinned-memory (i think it's that) and --reserve-vram 1

    potatometer350Sep 4, 2026· 1 reaction

@foxydits Thanks. What's weird is this morning I was upscaling at 1.75 without a problem, then by afternoon I couldn't even do 1.5. I can't figure it out. I'm guessing that even though I cleared the vram, something else got stuck in there and wouldn't get out of the way. I don't know. I do not understand the technical side of all this. I'm trying to learn but obviously I'm not there yet.

Anyway, now with your 1.5 workflow, it seems to be doing 2x upscale just fine. Completed in 305 seconds (4 steps...I'll try 8 steps later tonight).

But yeah it was a ten second video. I'll read about those startup flags. I know pinned memory is enabled. Not sure what it does but I will try removing that flag if I have anymore trouble.

So with workflow v1.5 it's no longer possible to get context of previous video if I want to upscale 0.3 to 1.5MP? I can only do max 0.7 without upscale and the quality pales in comparison to upscale 1.5MP. But I really like the context-aware from the Seamless Continuation feature. With upscale enable, we have to take a screenshot of the last frame from previous video and use as a ref now?

    foxydits
    Author
    Sep 4, 2026

For now, I removed upscaling Video Continuations because simply put, there was a major issue with it; it produced flickers due to the latent being filled with two guides covering the same starting frames but at different sizes. You may have not noticed it if you do 2d/cgi stuff, but with live action it was pretty noticeable.

And to be clear, if you were able to gen at 1.5 on final upscale sampler, you absolutely can on 1st pass sampler as well. They are literally both doing the same exact thing... sampling.

    teiji25762Sep 4, 2026

@foxydits I'm not doing 1.5X upscale. I upscale to 1.5 MP. It's not possible to do that with 1 pass on 16GB VRAM. I hope you find a solution for this in future update.

    foxydits
    Author
    Sep 4, 2026

@teiji25762 I knew what you meant. And I'm saying something that's purely logical, so let me break it down for you one more time:

When you successfully render X steps on the final pass of my workflow at 1.5 MP
It is EXACTLY the same as rendering X steps on the first pass of my workflow at 1.5 MP

    The two processes are identical.

Adding more steps doesn't increase VRAM usage.

THEREFORE, you can gen the entire 1st pass at 1.5 MP. Do you understand now?

    freewellgearSep 4, 2026

So I tried this out and it did work. My only question and maybe this is intended but there doesn't appear to be anyway to look at the rendered extended clip before it is finalized right? At least with normal workflow you have up to 3 previews and can pick the best one. This basically forces you down 1 path and no real review of it.

Do I understand the intent of the workflow?

    foxydits
    Author
    Sep 4, 2026

@freewellgear The main use-case of the workflow is the seed hunting (3 previews) + pick one for upscale finalization. Video Continuation is just an option I added in, and yes, it is limited to the normal straightforward workflow style of 1 gen = 1 output. You can watch each step through the previewer, assuming you have --preview-method latent2rgb as a start up flag, or use the Model Previewer option in the workflow. That's how you can see if your gen is proceeding correctly or not with that Single Pass option.

@sergiogmx minimax is quite smart so I just use a compact 3-shot: full body frontal, full body profile, close up 3/4ths. If your char has specific patterns on their back you can add a behind shot, but a lot of things can be described just as easily in their subject_definitions section.

    Hello!

Your wokflow is not simply "the best", it is THE ONE workflow to rule them all :) Thank you! We finally have the ultimate tool to make films in H3.

I only have two small questions -

1 - Everything in your workflow is clearly intended to be used with Ref2VA model, yet by default the loader module suggests FL2VA. I tried both, and surprisingly both produce almost identical results, but still, which one you recommend? I went with Ref2VA, but may be there are some advantages of FL2VA that I've missed?

2 - Latent upscaler module has FP16 precision selected, but BF16 upscaler loaded. Since there exists FP16 upscaler version, may be it's better to match them? I know that the precision itself is better left to FP16 then BF16, however, what about the model?

Thank you once again, you're the BEST :)

With great respect and gratitude, Draco.

P.S. As recommended here, I use er sde × sgm uniform for both the previews & upscale paths. This produces noticeable better motion then beta or linear_quadratic. seeds 2 × ddim uniform makes even better quality, but more than doubles generation time...

    foxydits
    Author
    Sep 4, 2026

Ha, yes, the workflow looks like a ref2va workflow but indeed, it being pre-programmed for the fl2va model is intentional, because as you discovered they function identically for the most part--with fl2va looking, in my opinion, better for reference work by a considerable margin.

With bf vs fp, you know I really hadn't considered that here. When I first installed the Latent Upscaler it didn't have that fp16 option toggle. But you're right, I should try it. Precision in the upscaling process could be a uniquely important factor.

I will try the sgm uniform scheduler, thanks for the recommend! As a content creator I have to be careful what I stick people with, an er_sde/beta is a community fav. I also really like Seeds 2, definitely have enjoyed it.

    Thanks for the ongoing improvements.

Version 1.5 is really good so far. With 10 Eros at 4 steps and 12 video / 7 audio shift you can get some good looking and sounding results. Unfortunately the upscaling path at 4 steps completely destroys the audio.

Using the base model at 8/8 steps and without shift enabled the changing sound is still an issue, but not that apparent.

Anyway, thanks for the worfklow. So much fun to work with.

1.5 is definitely an improvement (love the new H3 Prompt IDE node). But why the change to the video continuation function? In v1.21 we could use the two-pass set up (i.e., the second upscale pass). I wish that change could be rolled back. Otherwise, love it!

    foxydits

    Sep 4, 2026

Upscale wasn't seamless for vid continuation after upscale, simply put. It flickered due the 2nd pinning of guidance frames in the upscale pass. This version is truly seamless.

    bwcproductions643Sep 10, 2026

@foxydits Thanks! Do you have a sample prompt for video continuation (sorry if I missed it in the workflow). I've tried "a continuous shot from beginning to end" and then describing what's happening, but it keeps doing a hard cut right after the fed frames from the starting video. Are we not supposed to use the ref2va sections (e.g., subject_definitions:, detailed_description:, etc.)?

    foxydits
    Author
    Sep 10, 2026

@bwcproductions643 You can use the ref2va sections, but it's trickier. The main tips:
    1. No Turbo LoRAs. All of them seem to promote hard cuts.
    2. "a single continuous shot from beginning to end." (as you know)
    3. describe the overlap frames. 22 or 39 is 0.95-1.7~ seconds, and that time unless accounted for won't lead to a continuous shot. So if your preview shows in that 1.7~ seconds Hermione Granger drinking a potion from the side in her dorm, you might add after the continuous shot line, "a medium close up profile view shot of the girl with brown hair drinking from a glass potion vial in her bedroom. afterwards, she ..."
Think of the description line as an anchor that the model can read and go "Oh, okay, that's what's happening." Because from the model's perspective, the overlap frames are forced upon it; it doesn't want to be showing those frames, it wants to do its own thing.

Are you planning to extend this workflow with the Derope techniques you use in your other workflow (https://civitai.red/models/2834514/minimax-h3-t2v-i2v-ref2v-advanced-filmmaking-workflow-or-all-speedups-qol-features)?

That technique is really good and helps prevent decay.

Yeah, I held off on implementing it because too many people were OOM'ing with it and it was clearly just confusing people. I talked to the developer and he said he was gonna be streamlining it a bit. He's probably done, and there's probably a good implementation now, but I just haven't gotten to it quite yet.

    silesia335Sep 5, 2026

My generated clips often show subtle artifacts (horizontal pixel shifts). It seems to come from low resolution in the first step and looks like a common issue. A deroping technique removes these artifacts, so it should help here.
So, I’m looking forward to the next version. Thanks for the great workflow.

    foxydits

    Sep 5, 2026· 1 reaction

@silesia335 Mm, yeah it sort of depends on what kind of scene you're trying to gen too. Artifacts appear at 0.2-0.4 MP frequently, I agree. If you're doing action I actually recommend higher megapixels for the 1st pass, like 0.5 MP @ 10 steps. That way the details are much more locked in by time it gets to final upscale. The two stages each have their own push and pull that I've sort of gotten used to.

awesome workflow crazy amount of customization. one thing that maybe im somehow doing wrong is with the seamless video extension

whenever I continue a video it starts to make the very first video in the series start slightly more zoomed in. if I want to link 3 or more videos by the end of it the start of the video is hardly useable since it is so zoomed in. im not sure why thats happening. individual video creation from a still frame image works great. is there some setting i clicked by mistake? I want the existing video and quality to not be effected when theyre merged but it seems like this is happening

    foxydits
    Author
    Sep 5, 2026

Zoomed in, huh? Are you selecting the right aspect ratio on the green Video Settings node area? The key to continuing gens is to make sure your video aspect ratio is the same as your input, and to always be describing the continuation in your prompt. i.e.: what is happening in the overlap frames of your shot. The phrase `a single continuous shot from start to finish' comes up a lot in my prompts. Reminder, video continuation is ONLY for continuous shots. If you're just trying to link scenes together, a video editor is the right path.

    djm2000Sep 5, 2026

@foxydits thanks for the reply! I am using it for continuous shots. I thought i had fixed it but it appears no. under the seamless video box I chose the resize method of 'pad' instead of crop or does that section matter if im keeping a consistent size? although I was using the same size each time so im not sure why the crop slightly adjusted the starting level of zoom in. (what i mean by zoom in is if the initial frame of the video originally showed 100% of the picture it would instead start with about 80% visible instead with the perimeter not seen)

    foxydits
    Author
    Sep 5, 2026

@djm2000 Crop is the correct selection. It won't do anything if your aspect ratio remains the same. So if you're genning Widescreen 16:9, it doesn't matter what res you gen at as long as your Continue OG video is 16:9 as well. I wouldn't ever change it from crop. The reason you're getting a zoom is because of the model's interpretation of your prompt. Your prompt is allowing the scene to change, and usually that is combatted with the aforementioned a continuous single shot from beginning to end and then a description of what's happening during your overlap frames so that the model knows what it's continuing. For instance, if you're continuing a video of a girl playing a guitar on stage, it might look like: a continuous single shot from beginning to end. a close up of a girl with blonde hair is strumming her guitar on stage, she has a confident smile. which would describe the frames in the overlap. then you can prompt what actually happens. from the model's perspective, the overlap frames are forced on it, but it still has that 1-1.5 seconds of unaccounted-for time if you're not prompting carefully to explain what it's continuing from. I've seen it change camera angles, zoom out, or zoom in unless you're careful.

    SinglePageSep 6, 2026

@foxydits Ah, this is what I was asking about in my recent comment--I'm still trying to get it to work right even with the prompt, but we'll see.

    foxydits
    Author
    Sep 7, 2026

@SinglePage One thing I didn't seem to mention here is that turbo loras tend to create camera changes more than anything. I often have to disable them when using continuation 'cause otherwise I get a zoom in or angle change.

I like your workflow but sadly you can see in your own videos something severely overexposes the videos. Is not LORA or Attn, I tested out and if you use the ff2l checkpoint it does this (you can see how overblown the highlights are in your demos of the girl , which is not very cinematic)

I found out using the reference checkpoint is better, but you should definetely troubleshoot the sampler/cfg settings to find out what';s going on. I did around 100 tests and the issue is very consistent.

LOL if you're talking about Effy, the silverhaired girl, that's all post editing. I wash her out and put on glow to simulate the cellphone camera. Thanks for calling it not cinematic; that's the point in my case!

The reality is, you and any other user can switch to the ref2va model at any time in my workflow. I prefer the visual/audio clarity of fl2va, but I know some prefer ref2va. They both function identically as far as being able to use vid/audio references, with ref2va fumbling the ball more often for me.

hello any tips for don't have slowmotion in video ?

    foxydits
    Author
    Sep 5, 2026· 3 reactions

Prompt for more to happen. Slow-mo only happens when you're not asking the characters to do enough with the length of the video. Asking a character to walk into the frame and stand, giving it 10 seconds, you'll get a slow-mo of them doing it instead of the expected "they walk in normal speed and then just stand there for 8 seconds". You can also use timestamps like:
At 00:00.000: <Subject 1> walks gracefully through the doorway into the room.
At 00:03.000: <Subject 1> stops walking and is standing in front of the camera. She then begins to make silly poses for the camera.

Basically, you can't have slow-mo if you constrain the time between actions. It will try to accomplish what you need in the time you give it, meaning if you give her 1 second, it'll appear too fast. Hope that helps.

The other option if you are familiar with editors like Davinci Resolve, is to use frame interpolation to like 48 in the this workflow. Build your shot normally. DO NOT try to slow things down in the workflow. You will utilize DR to do the slowdown now that you have higher frames. Then import your video into DR with a 24p timeline. When you run the 48p scene normally, it will run just fine within the 24p timeline. Then you can utilize DR built in retiming features to slow down areas to 1/2 speed.

There's plenty of videos on utilizing higher frame rates to slow down action in DR if thats a route you want to go.

@freewellgear I’m an editor and I use Premiere Pro; I’m familiar with these methods, but I’m looking for source footage with natural movement. Generally, slow-motion footage isn't meant to be played back at real-time speed because the motion looks quite strange and unnatural.

It's up to you. I've run 1080p movies through it, I've run 360p youtube vids from 20 years ago through it. It's single pass only, so whatever you set the aspect ratio / megapixels to, that's what you're gonna get. I do have some recommendations though. Try to shoot for no turbo LoRA if you want it to be a truly seamless transition. Assuming it's a single shot, you'd start your prompt with a single continuous shot from beginning to end and describe the scene that is happening, because from the model's perspective, the overlapping frames are part of the gen, and the prompt needs to guide the gen from that to where you want the video to go. I recommend just 10 steps, no lora, to match most 'medium' quality videos. Super high quality videos you'll want to shoot for 12-14. But very rarely do you actually need the full amount of steps to resolve a continuation.

    @foxydits

@foxydits Thanks! I'm trying to create a sequence of videos (rendering segment A, continuing B using segment A, then C....) and I'm running into the ratio or something warping at the seams. I think it's the overlapping frames not being quite exactly what the OG video was, even if the background is static? Experimenting with 5 or 32 frames now...have you tested/troubleshooted this before? Would number of steps matter much for the seam? I'm doing 12 rn.

    djm2000Sep 7, 2026

@SinglePage I think this is the same issue that I am having. even when I think everything should be the same video continued forward at the same size/ratio and MP what happens is when I link a second video the first video then becomes slightly zoomed in. The 5 vs 25 vs 32 etc frame overlap doesnt seem to effect that (I think that just helps with the fluidity of the video continuing).

so far best way for me to continue a video without it becoming zoomed in is to just save the last frame from the upscaled video and then use it as the starting frame for the next video - but this has the limitation of not flowing as seamlessly as if the video was truly continued based off the previous one. @foxydits thanks again for all your helpful responses on this

@djm2000 if you use a turbo lora you'll get zoom ins. if you don't say 'a single continuous shot from beginning to end' at the start of your prompt, you can get angle changes and zoom ins. also just to be clear, the overlap frames follow the formula 17n+5, so 5, 22, 39, 56. You listed 5, 25, 32 which would cause big problems. I'm only mentioning it in case you don't know and are actually using those values.

    SinglePageSep 7, 2026

@foxydits @djm2000 I realized what it was: I was adjusting the loras between segments, not even just the turbos. Duh.

Test it out first, run 0.5 MP 1st pass, upscale to something like 1.2-1.5 MP, and see what times you're getting for like 5 seconds, 8 seconds, 12 seconds. If all good, you can do 15 seconds at that size. It's a pretty flexible workflow so mess with things and see what works best for you. Some people like the 3 previews to be really fast, so they do 0.3 MP there @ 8 steps, and upscale to 1.0 MP with like 10 steps.

Can you tell me what you're doing? Regular gen, Vid continuation? And what part in the process does this error pop up? Before sampling starts? As you try to upscale? Need more info to diagnose. But I can say it's very likely just a misconfiguration. NoneType can come from not having a node pack installed, it can also come from empty data being passed to a node. Usually it's just an improperly clicked toggle or a node pack needing to be installed.

vid cont, happens after the preview is made, and saved. occurs when the video stitching starts to continue the video. I can manually stitch them together so it's not a work stoppage but it won't do the stitching. other than that, this WF is rocking. Thank you

@tibbydapug232 Interesting, the error is propagating from kjnodes, which with the error implies that one of the image locations isn't supplying data for stitching. I'm assuming you followed all directions and have turned off previews #2 & #3, and turned on Single Pass in the options. Given that assumption, is it possible that your OG video's time-span selection (the blue bar) is smaller than your set number of Overlap frames?

Hey, first of all, thanks so much for sharing this workflow — it's really impressive! But I'm kinda dumb with this stuff, so bear with me lol.

I'm running a 4060 Ti 8GB, and during the first pass, each of the 3 preview videos takes around 10-15 minutes to generate. That's like 40+ minutes just to see the previews... Is there any way to speed this up? I saw something called "TE-Speed-MiniMaxH3 (OSS)" and was wondering if adding that node would actually help, or if it's just gonna break things. Would love to hear your thoughts on that.

Also, I'm using the v1.5 workflow, and I'm running into this issue: after the first pass finishes and I pick the one I like, I enable "Enable Upscale Pass" and click "Start/Reroll Upscale Pass" — but instead of upscaling, it just starts generating the first pass all over again. I'm literally not touching anything else, just selecting the preview, turning on Upscale, and hitting the button. Am I missing something obvious here?

I'm a total noob, so sorry if these are dumb questions. Really appreciate you sharing this workflow and any help you can give. Thanks again!

@lajidef734122 Likely you have the startup flag "--no-cache" enabled, or simply DID change something that would affect stage 1 without realizing it. Comfy doesn't regenerate unless there's a reason to, it's just not how it's designed.

Hi @KindyT -- this is not a workflow for an 8gb vram card. I have not optimized it for that low VRAM. I do have some VRAM saving options but 8gb is probably outside of the ballpark for them to really help.

As I said to @lajidef734122 typically this comes down to user error or settings. Make sure you don't use the start-up flag "--no-cache", as that instructs ComfyUI to never save latents to memory. It's a very common startup flag for low vram users, so I wouldn't be surprised if that's what's affecting you. But personally, I'd leave that on and use a workflow designed for low vram.

    KindyTSep 7, 2026

@foxydits First of all, thanks for the reply! I checked my ComfyUI and I definitely don't have --no-cache enabled. Also, I ran the next step right after the preview finished, so I'm pretty sure it's not a user error like accidentally changing settings that would force it to re-run the preview. I don't think the issue is with your workflow either — I mean, so many amazing videos have been made with it, they're seriously awesome.♥♥♥

I really love your workflow. Even though my setup isn't quite up to par and it's a bit slow, I really hope I can get through the whole thing, even if I have to sacrifice some resolution to make it work. ♥

    foxydits

@KindyT Well if it isn't --no-cache and you're sure it's not user error, you're one of the very rare individuals where I'm not sure what actually is happening. You run comfy desktop, or portable? Comfy's supposed to save the latent in memory, which is what allows it to carry over from 1st to 2nd stage between the two runs. I assume your "Manual Random Seed" nodes are still both set to 'Fixed' right? I've seen people accidentally/automatically switch them to "Randomize" which causes of course regens every time. I suppose one optimization if you're stuck in regen-world, would be to click disable and turn off the two previews you didn't want to use, so that way you only ever have to regen the 1 latent you chose, and then it goes straight to upscale without regenning the 2 rejected previews.

    KindyTSep 7, 2026· 1 reaction

@foxydits Hey, just wanted to say I got the workflow working! Honestly, I'm not even 100% sure what I did to fix it, but it runs perfectly now — and honestly, it looks amazing for my setup. Really appreciate you sharing this!

So I've got one more question. I was originally generating 15-second videos, but the time cost is pretty brutal on my hardware, so I switched to making 5-second clips instead, hoping to use the continuation method you showed in your YouTube video.

The thing is — the first 5-second clip looks great, and the second one looks great too. I used the last frame of the first clip as the starting frame for the second, so far so good.

But then when I go to generate the third segment, the saved output ends up being a 9-second video that seems to contain all three segments stitched together, and there's some weird overlapping going on, which messes up the final output and makes it look distorted.

Is this something I'm doing wrong? Or is this by design — like, does the video length keep stacking the more continuation steps you add? Or should it always generate a fixed length? I'm a bit confused and not sure what's going on.

Any help would be super appreciated. Thanks again for your time and for sharing this awesome workflow!

@KindyT It sounds like you're likely encountering some user error in that 3rd segment. The workflow has no knowledge of previous segments. It just sticks 22-or-whatever overlap frames onto the beginning of your gen and tells the model "continue this". Verify everything's correctly set up, especially with the blue timeline selector in the vid loader. To be honest though, it sounds like you could do yourself a favor and get a solid video editor like Davinci Resolve (free). If you're doing a bunch of shot continuations in a row it's just easier to not have comfyUI stitch them together over and over and just toss them together in the video editor. Video editors are how you'd make real high quality production output anyway.

Either way, glad you're up and running!

When using the seamless video continuation, your workflow now does this via single pass to improve smoothness. I am working with a video with 3 reference images and 1.0 MP output with 10 steps and no Turbo Lora or ComfyKitchen. It's taking about an hour per gen. Problem is that sometimes the video didn't follow my prompt or come out right. Is there any way I can generate at 0.3 MP and once I find a video that follows my prompt, use the same seed to generate at higher res? Since I'm using the seamless option, there is no option to preview before upscaling anymore.

If you're running a 5090 (even on a laptop) something else is wrong. Should not be taking an hour. And you should always be using Comfy Kitchen, it's basically free speed. I will be updating the workflow tomorrow to switch to the new built in core node Block Attention, which will also help you speed up. It's Kijai's Sol Attention without requiring triton, it's really good. But seriously, make sure your comfy is all up to date, your nvidia drivers too, and make sure you're not running any programs that use vram. also consider starting up with --reserve-vram 1, which will help you not spike out into massive slowdowns due to memory mismanagement.

    grasshopper85116Sep 7, 2026· 3 reactions

Im pretty sure that using the same seed at higher res does not produce the same result, because the model works in different latent space or something along those lines.

Loving the new 1.5 version! I don't know if you saw that in the last workflow I ended up fixing my problem with the latent error when using an audio reference and extend node by doing a ocmpletely fresh install of comfyui portable, so must have been a clash somewhere with old stuff I'd installed.

In the current 1.5 I did swap the IDE node and the picture, video and sound inputs with something I've been using for a few weeks now, thought you may be interested in it if you hadn't come across it before.
    https://github.com/Adudeguyman/ComfyUI-Fantastic-MiniMaxH3-PromptBuilder

Totally understand if you don't want to include it in the workflow since it's probably not everyone's cup of tea but I thought it might be handy for others that might want to clean up all the inputs into a single node and have some extra guidance for prompt writing

That node definitely does look clean! However I actually use the features in the Image Loader (such as being able to crop with click->drag rectangle, setting individual image max MP) and the audio/video loaders (being able to use the timeline selector to select beginning/end times). So while my setup looks a little clunkier and messier, it's got functionality that I use daily.

    kaileykkSep 7, 2026· 1 reaction

@foxydits Yeah that's understandable! The node I linked does have those features too, being able to crop pictures, resize them, trim video and audio etc but if a workflow works for you it's better to stick with it, but others might find it useful either way, or could just make use of the prompt building part of the node. either way thanks for making yours so clean and easy to swap nodes with our own preferences, some workflows are so messy that it's hard to really do that haha

This workflow is wonderful. i used to use your previous published workflow with some modification. now i try to switch to this one.
may i make a recommendation, for those with VRAM issue, i recommend to switch the upscaler to MMH3 Ultimate upscale. It also use the 3D upscale model. but it allow tiled upscale and the upscale work nicely for 1 steps 0.18-0.2 denosie.
The whole upscale process is way faster.

Is the sampler built into the MMH3 Ultimate Upscale? If so I have no interest in it. The actual latent upscale process isn't what causes people issues with my workflow; that part only takes 5-10 seconds on average. It's the sampling at the new latent size that causes OOM or slowdowns due to VRAM consumption. The SamplerCustomerAdvanced simply is having to reckon with a huge latent, often times bigger than the model was intended to run at.

    TheWor1DSep 8, 2026

@foxydits The sampler is not build in. you need to connect the condition, sampler scheduler and MMH3 model for inference. it allow tile inference, and the example workflow only do 1 steps with turbo lora. it look useable with 1 steps. actually this is the fork of the original latent 3D upscaler workflow.

    TheWor1DSep 8, 2026· 1 reaction

@kaileykk i replaced the upscaler of this workflow and packed this to a subgraph. tile sampling save VRAM and allow user to make a higher resolution without oom. you may try it here... if foxydits think this is a good idea,. welcome to switch to this.

Though this model is a beast, so 12GB VRAM and 32 system RAM means the 40+ GB of text encoder + model don't have a ton of room to wiggle around when it comes to upscaling in general.

My only issue is with scene continuation - and I assume its a me problem.

When I use a ref audio for the initial gen it works, but then I cannot use that ref audio in the continuation flow - get math expression errors basically.

The 22frame overlaps isnt enough to cover real audio ref, so wondering how I can still use the ref audio in each new continuation gen?

    kaileykkSep 7, 2026· 2 reactions

I was having that exact same issue, I did a completely fresh install of comfyui portable and it worked for me after that, I think in my case there was a clash with something I must have installed at some point in the past. @Sassyphrassy hi, you would use <Audio 1> to load whatever reference from the video your continuing that you need. It's not like just because you're doing a video continuation you can't use all the reference slots that minimax offers, 9+ images, 3+ audio are still good to go. You just need to make sure to prompt correctly so that the model knows how it's utilizing them. Also, you can set your overlap value. 22 is just the default since it's reasonable for most use cases. The formula is 17n+5. so 5 is the shortest, next is 22, 39, then 56. The more overlap frames the longer you gen will take though since they all have to be considered by the model.

    SassyphrassySep 7, 2026· 1 reaction

@foxydits I did that but still didnt work :/

    I fixed it(?....works but TBD)

but I had to change the Workflow a tad for continuation. had to disconnect Guide passes for 1 and 2 to the audio, then it worked wonderfully with ref audio.

I changed 3 existing nodes and added 1 note node.

    1) Guide for 1st Pass (node id 296)

In your original JSON, this node had its audio input connected to link 16134.

    I changed:

    audio link: 16134 → null

So before, this node was getting:

    positive

    latent

    audio_vae

    image

    audio

    Now it gets:

    positive

    latent

    audio_vae

    image

    no audio

    Effect:
This guide still helps H3 continue the visuals, but it no longer feeds the seamless-continuation audio into H3.

    2) Guide for 2nd Pass (node id 302)

In your original JSON, this node had its audio input connected to link 16137.

    I changed:

    audio link: 16137 → null

    So same deal:

    visual guide stays

    audio guide removed

    Effect:
Second pass still uses the continuation image guidance, but no longer injects continuation audio into H3.

Right, your AI is thinking that the guide's audio input from your OG video was overwriting <Audio 1> from the ref control area (I don't believe that's true) but I'm glad it's working for you. A way to accomplish the same thing would've been to just select "OG Video has NO Audio" in the Vid Continuation group. Then it wouldn't send the audio to the Guider nodes, which is the same solution your AI came up with.

How can I assure that every clip I generate has the same resolution? The first clip I generate as usual with 0.4mp and latent upscaler 0.8mp. When i now try to prolong the video the next clip never get the same resolution. (Single pass/ without using latent upscaler and use directly 0.8mp at the beginning but still slightly different resolution) Anyone can help?

Use a free video editor like Davinci Resolve to bring the two clips together and export them as one in a single video file. This is a filmmaker's workflow first and foremost, so I do sort of frequently advocate that people become familiar with video editors. The only reason my short films look any good is because of them.

@Dannyone Indeed. I do almost all of my scene composition in Davinci. As long as your clips are the same aspect ratio, they will be sized to whatever output you're making for your video in the video editor.

Hi! I’m trying to understand the intended workflow for creating a longer, continuous video using this setup.

Let’s say I start with Picture 1, which is an image of a woman walking down a city street. I enable “Picture 1 is FIRST FRAME”.

As I understand it, the workflow then generates 3 video variations, and I can choose the one I like best. So far, I understand the process.

But what do I do after that if I want to continue the exact same scene?

For example, I want to take the best generated clip and extend it so that the woman simply keeps walking down the street — without a visible cut, jump, or change of scene.

I’m also unsure about the upscale/continuation order:

If I want to use “Seamless Continuation”, should I first run the selected clip through the Upscale Pass and then use the upscaled result as the input for Seamless Continuation? Or should I use the original, non-upscaled generated clip for the continuation, and only upscale after I have finished all the continuations?

In other words, what is the recommended order:

Generate → choose the best of the 3 → Upscale → Seamless Continuation

    or

Generate → choose the best of the 3 → Seamless Continuation → repeat → Upscale at the end?

And when using “Seamless Continuation”, should “Single Pass” also be enabled?

Could you explain the exact step-by-step workflow for extending the video repeatedly (for example 5 × 5–10 seconds) while keeping the same woman, environment, movement and camera continuity as consistent as possible?

Thanks! This workflow is amazing — I just want to make sure I’m using the continuation system correctly. 🙏

Im glad I'm not the only one having problems with understanding how it exactly works. The workflow is indeed absolutely amazing but I still have resolution problems with the different clips. Anything else works amazing so I'm also interested in how it really meant to work.

Hi, first off thanks for taking the time to explain your struggle rather than a 1 sentence comment that I'd struggle to help with.

    >But what do I do after that if I want to continue the exact same scene?

You'd turn on Video Continuation, Single Pass, set your MP/length/step count accordingly. Load your video, select your overlap frames (5, 22, 39, 56), choose whether or not the vid has audio (if you say yes the gen will have access to it and learn sounds/character voices, etc. if no, you can use audio reference 1 for whatever). As far as prompting for continuity, I always start prompts with a single continuous shot from beginning to end then describe what the first overlap frames look like, what's happening, etc. If you use a turbo LoRA or don't do that, the model sometimes will cut to a new angle. So I always recommend not using Turbo. If you want to keep your graphical fidelity up, use a Last Frame in <Picture 2> so the model has a goal of where to go to return the vid to high quality. Otherwise with each continuation you're feeding AI into AI and the vid quality will degrade.

There is no upscaling for Seamless Video Continuation. What you set for MP in the 1st pass is what you get. It's perfectly fine to run 1-1.5 MP gens through single pass and achieve the same quality as upscales, it just takes longer. Video Continuations aren't meant to be chained a bunch. Very few cinematic filmmaking shots require a continuous shot more than 15 seconds long.

Generate → choose the best of the 3 → Upscale → Seamless Continuation
^ this is the only valid path.

    Hope that helps.

    bamib1971533Sep 8, 2026

Thanks, that makes the continuation process much clearer!

I now have another question about the overall workflow for creating a complete longer video.

Is the idea that this workflow is designed to let us build a longer video by combining multiple generated/continued clips within the workflow itself — for example, creating a complete 1-minute continuous video?

If so, what is the step-by-step process for doing this?

    For example:

Generate clip 1 → choose the best version → upscale → Seamless Continuation → generate clip 2 → continue again → etc.

Or is the intended workflow more like:

Generate each individual clip separately → upscale each clip → then use a video editor to assemble the clips into the final 1-minute video?

In other words, is Seamless Continuation intended to be used to create one long continuous shot, or is the workflow mainly intended to generate individual shots/clips that are later edited together in a video editor?

I’m trying to understand the complete step-by-step process — from the initial image all the way to a finished 30–60 second video.

Thanks again for taking the time to explain this! 🙏

Can someone explain why the 1st pass is set to only 8 steps? I don’t see any Turbo LoRA being used.

Is the 8-step setting specifically because the video is then processed through the 2nd pass/upscaling?

Would it be possible to run only the 1st pass with, for example, 20 steps, and skip the 2nd pass entirely?

In other words, can I simply increase the 1st pass from 8 → 20 steps and use only the 1st pass as the final output?

And if so, what would be the downside compared to using the 2-pass workflow?

Would the quality be noticeably different, or would it mainly affect resolution/detail?

    Thanks!

    vampirox22Sep 8, 2026· 1 reaction

It is certainly possible to do it the way you described; the first step is just a preview, since the workflow focuses on finding the right seed by generating multiple options—allowing you to select the video you like best to create the final version. However, if tyou are not interested on it, simply disable previews 2 and 3 and select "single pass."

    foxydits
    Author
    Sep 8, 2026· 2 reactions

Hi, to answer your questions, the default for 1st pass being set to 8 is exactly for the reason you suspect; because when you find a preview you like, you finalize it in upscale with another 8-12 steps.

And yes, the workflow has an option toggle: "Single Pass", where it skips the upscale pass and only uses the 1st preview sampler, sending whatever finishes there to any finalization options like RIFE and then saving.

As for quality, single pass will always be better. But it's also 2x longer if you do 20x steps at 1.0 mp rather than 10 steps at 0.5 MP and 10 steps upscale to 1.0 MP. It's a trade-off decision you have to make for yourself.

The only difference made between the versions is Block Attention, which uses the same process as the previous node if you use the drop down and switch to SLA (which is good for if you're using turbo loras). So your perception of the last version being faster is really either just that, or anecdotal.

    addison8406Sep 8, 2026

Solid workflow. I would appreciate some clarification on what exactly I am expected to use as [Finalization] LoRa.
I was getting int errors on the 2nd SLA attention node and it seems to be due to that LoRa node being disabled. I just don't quite understand what to add in there. Same as the LoraS i added for the 3 gen previews?

    foxydits
    Author
    Sep 8, 2026

You can enable the 'Finalization Only LoRA' option to use a Turbo LoRA only for the final upscale steps. It's good to not use turbo on 1st pass because the base model's motion and clarity tends to be better. Using a Turbo for upscale pass only speeds up how quickly you can upscale, without really affecting the motion of your original latent too much. It's a good trade-off for quality and speed for some people.

The errors are because the node is brand new in comfy and there's problems with it. I simply got excited thinking 'yay, people will be so happy to have the speedup built into comfy instead of being a separate node', without thinking that comfy could fuck up their own implementation. It was my bad.

Very few workflows are like mine. Your AI simply has no frame of reference to judge it. What other workflows do you know that you run twice to get a result? The first run produces 3 sample previews, and the 2nd run takes your chosen sample preview to upscale finalization. On top of that it has several complicated features like seamless video extension with frame blending. So yeah, to a GPT I'm sure it looks crazy under the hood, but it's organized and functional and suits every need I have as an AI filmmaker.

Not really sure then, unless I saw your actual settings in the workflow. I've never gotten this error. Does a different video give the same error? And you only have 1 audio option selected correct (either has audio, or doesn't). I had a situation earlier today where a video's specific audio type messed up my gens. You could play/hear the video in the previewer, but if you listened to it with audio preview it was all slo-mo and muffled, and caused errors. So sometimes it's just the video format that comfy can't handle. Just trying to think of everything here since I can't sit down at your computer and troubleshoot myself.

@tibbydapug232 Right click the Block Attention nodes (there are two in the WF, one in single pass group and the other under the final pass upscale group), click -> Recreate Node -> Reset Widget Values.

ComfyUI screwed up their release of the node and changes settings randomly.

    tibbydapug232Sep 9, 2026

@foxydits reset both, still error. says sampler 2 is the node. when i use the target error scope in comfyui, it takes me in the subgraph into the sampler inputs. it says it's getting a value called attention and the sampler doesn't know what it is.

    snake2025Sep 9, 2026

@foxydits Don't ask what the problem was but I took the drastic step of reinstalling Comfy portable and that fixed it. I wish there was a less painful way. Thanks for all the responses

@snake2025 it's needed sometimes... everybody needs a refresh occasionally. been a year for me, somehow with everything i've done i still haven't managed to break my install. rolling that dice every day though. good you have everything working now.

    MoonDrochSep 11, 2026

@snake2025 I had the exact same error. My problem was with this custom node: https://github.com/kat3ri/ComfyUI-MiniMax-H3-Extend.

I removed the node, and everything went back to normal.

@MoonDroch just to be clear that node does not exist in my workflow... are you just saying having it installed caused that error for you, even if not present in mine?

    MoonDrochSep 12, 2026

@foxydits Yes. I tried various methods for extending the video, including this one. And that node broke your workflow. Besides, the node itself breaks for no apparent reason.

Quick question please. All was good running previews then selecting one for upscale pass but all of a sudden the final output has no audio but the preview has audio. What am I missing or doing wrong. Did I untoggle something? Thanks!

If options that shouldn't be enabled like Vid Continuation, Single Pass, or Force Custom Audio are on (without meaning to be and loading an audio file from Audio 1), those can affect final output audio on normal gens.

Excellent work, this and your previous workflow have become my primary H3 workflows. However, I notice that you no longer have a Sage Attention node in v1.6, and I'm curious as to why.

    foxydits
    Author
    Sep 9, 2026

Because comfy-kitchen attention is the same speed up & cost basis, but doesn't require any python installs of sage attention / triton. And since they're mutually exclusive, I removed the more complicated of the two options. AFAIK there would be no valid reason to use sage over comfy-kitchen attention.

    ChauskHossSep 9, 2026· 1 reaction

Ahh, interesting. I wasn't aware they were mutually exclusive. And right after I went through the trouble of getting sage and triton both installed, hah. Ah well. Thanks for the quick reply, and for your hard work.

Not sure what is going on but when I change the reference image (doing i2va) the video gets generated but starts from a random generated image (that follows the prompt). I tried with 1088x1920 reference at 9:16 in video settings and that worked without problems. When I changed to a 1248x1664 and put 3:4 as aspect ratio, the above problem occurs. What's wrong? I didn't change anything in the workflow.

@johhnnymann1 There are little notes above each option at the top of the workflow. You start on stage 1, gen up to 3 previews, after it finished comfy will go to "Idle", and without changing anything about your prompt, select the toggle of the preview you like, enable Upscale Pass, and then click the Red 'manual random seed' button to the right of that over the Upscale Pass section. The green "manual random seed" button controls 1st stage, red controls Upscale stage.

    u4126613475Sep 12, 2026

@foxydits thank you for the infos . may i ask what should i do . to force the creation use the image i provide but dont zoom into it? likke its fine if its rescale it so its not a 4k video but to use the first frame image completely. i got often "drunk effected zoomed in or other angle results". i bet i do some wrong settings.

    u4126613475Sep 18, 2026

@foxydits  that part is fine. the real deal is like if i use the video space then i got frozed down. but if i use the part where after frame it swap the old to the new ( that kind of video edition works) . i also cant figure out the h3 prompt ide stuff. when what option to use. what to type each etc. i still try to find a full wrote good example prompt list to see how to fill out properly rather than just type 2-3 sentence and try nonstop.

    equinoxe_c64Sep 9, 2026

I was also got the same Error, I was able to fix this by disable the Block Attention on Options.

    tibbydapug232Sep 9, 2026

@equinoxe_c64 i tried that and it still threw the code. i will try again, but to be honest the only real change from 1.5 to 1.6 is the new block attention and without it, we are missing out on the new improvement comfy made that should speed things up. without it 1.6 is 1.5. Thank you for helping

Hi fox, many thanks for sharing such solid and great workflow! I have a stupid question, hope you don't mind. With my understanding, after select the latent for upscaling, the next run for upscaling will not do the first-pass again but loading from cache or at least first-pass on the selected latent again. However, i oberved the first-pass applied to all 3 latents again. Am i wrong or any operation I did wrong? Thanks for your great work again!

    foxydits

USUALLY this is user error-- simply not realizing you changed something, whether it be removing a letter in the prompt, changing the crop on an image, ANYTHING that would tell comfyUI that something has intrinsically changed about the 1st pass. The other common reason is the startup flag "--no-cache", which tells comfy to never store data between runs. I recommend you test with someone really really simple, just a 2-3 sentence T2V prompt with simple settings; gen the 1st 3 previews, don't touch anything, just click enable on upscale pass and then hit run again. You'll see each of the 3 preview gens run a quick decode pass on the VHS Video preview, but it only takes a few seconds before it should pass to upscale phase.

    Dr_BB_GSep 9, 2026· 1 reaction

@foxydits Thanks Fox! I sort it out. Yes, it is the user error rather than workflow. Many thanks for sharing such good workflow!

    Hey Foxy;

Any possibility to put a node that auto-selects the best aspect ratio for the picture? Like in Minimax director?

    foxydits
    Author
    Sep 9, 2026· 1 reaction

I think in most cases you know what kind of aspect ratio you're trying to produce videos in, right? Like if I'm making a short film it's usually going to be in 9:16 or 16:9. I also just dunno of a node that does this, and I do have to be very careful about what custom nodes I add for this workflow because people start to complain if there's too many random ones required just to start using the workflow.

    SolHelSep 10, 2026

@foxydits Sometimes, my pictures aren't really fully 16:9 or 4:3. But you're right, I'm talking about a specific usage, like in I2VA. Just wanted to know, now I do.

Hi Fox, thanks keep improving the WF. Any tips or tutorial about better voices? Using just the <d> tag, the voice comes out very flat and dead. I already read some threads and they point to a prompting issue. While others are suggesting ripping an example and feed it as an Audio reference.

EDIT: also, non continuous video, single pass, does not have sound at all even if I have specified (S1) to the Subject and <d>. Tried it with StableYogi's SeedHunter WF and I do have voice with dialog.

    foxydits
    Author
    Sep 10, 2026

Mm, expressive voice rather than AI voice is a pretty big topic, but loosely, using voice references is the key I've found so far. 45 seconds of a good natural voice actor that isn't speaking right up against the mic, assign it as a vocal-timbre reference in retention_analsysis to your subject, and then in detailed_description you'd have them speak like: "<Subject 1> says using <Audio 1> as her vocal-timbre reference: <d>[English] I can't believe you let the muffins get cold.</d> her tone is playful but grumpy, her expression pouty and her eyes narrow." something like that.

Lack of sound probably has nothing to do with your prompt, you just make to make sure only 1 option in the Video Continuation section for audio is selected: -EITHER- "OG video has audio" or "OG video has NO audio".

    CowgarySep 10, 2026

@foxydits Sorry for the confusing post. The issue with no voice is related to generated a brand new video and not continuing.

    foxydits

    Sep 10, 2026

Make sure Single Pass is on, and the other two previews are turned off (#2 and #3 each have toggles). Lastly, make sure Final Upscale Pass toggle is off. The brown wavy noise is what happens usually when a latent that doesn't exist is being sampled. So it's definitely just a configuration error.

    MokiMok31Sep 13, 2026

Also it could happen when you have selected other than 1st video for upscale

I noticed too that on occasion, a video that's not encoded with a common codec or is of a specific file type can sometimes not load. I was trying to extend a .webm the other day that had corrupted audio and I thought my workflow was broken until I realized.

Anyway, best way to check would be to re-export your video in a video editor or ffmpeg or whatever you use. make it a generic .mp4 with the typical h264 encoder.

also, yes, this wf was not designed for anything less than 16 gb vram.. i'd wager your upscale issue has to do with that more than anything. even my 24 GB VRAM can't upscale more than 10 seconds of 1080p.

Hey Fox, really sorry, but on the upscale pass I'm hitting an error saying minimax_block_lowmem_forward() got an unexpected keyword argument 'attention'

I checked chatgpt and it told me to try bypassing the block, but if I do that I run out of VRAM. Could you help me out? It's an 8 second clip at 0.4mp

    foxydits
    Author
    Sep 11, 2026

Err, you're upscaling TO 0.4 mp? You mean that your 1st pass is 0.4 MP and that you're upscaling to something else, right? The workflow's default is to upscale to 1.0 MP.

This sounds like more of a node issue than an actual memory issue. You verified that your Upscale custom node is up to date? This one: https://github.com/LBH-123-AI/Comfyui_Minimax_h3_latent_Upscaler

Also, since the error mentions 'attention' too, I will also note that if you're not on the newest comfy portable update, the Block Attention node probably won't work. They JUST added it to comfy and it's been a major problem for comfy-desktop users so far since they straight up don't have the update yet for it.

You can still use the workflow by disabling the Block Attention option, it's just kind of slow without it.

    jfr0995Sep 11, 2026

@foxydits yeah exactly 1st pass at 0.4mp trying to upscale. Ok thank you i think I updated to latest comfy, but i'll double check and try again.

@jfr0995 HI! I ran into exactly the same problem yesterday. I worked through it together with ChatGPT, and after digging further than the initial “bypass LowVRAM” workaround, we found the actual compatibility problem.

There turned out to be two issues: KJNodes' MiniMax LowVRAM override doesn't accept the new attention argument from Core BSA, and after fixing that, KJ's list-based LowVRAM input also had to be handled differently when BSA supplies the attention function.

ChatGPT helped me build a patch for both, and I tested it on my setup. BSA + LowVRAM now run together successfully, so LowVRAM doesn't need to be bypassed.

    We packaged the workaround here:

    https://github.com/Gelazer/ComfyUI-KJNodes-BSA-Fix

The script checks the implementation before modifying anything and creates a backup first. I'd update KJNodes and test again before applying it, since an upstream fix is ultimately preferable.

Your error is exactly where I was stuck yesterday, so hopefully this saves you the same rabbit hole. :)

    foxydits

I assume you mean using audio vocal references for video continuations right? Yes--If your video has a voice in it, it will by default copy that voice for the same character assuming your overlap has their voice signal within its range. But if you want to supply a reference, do it in <Audio 2> because I feel like <Audio 1> gets overwritten by the OG video's audio index. Make sure you describe the character as speaking with <Audio 2> as her vocal-timbre reference. In summary also you'd want to have [reference generation + audio reference], all basic stuff from the prompting guide.

It's slow because Minimax has to look at all the reference frames of the video you're continuing. If you set overlap to 5 frames, it'll be faster but have less context. The default of 22 is a good medium group for most things. But sometimes I do 39 or even 56 depending on use-case.

Using same prompt for single pass, same settings, i've got ~70s/it on version 1.5 and ~400s/it with Model Sparse Attention node with sol-att method on 1.6 on my 5070ti 32 ram. How come?

    foxydits
    Author
    Sep 12, 2026

Well I don't know what your mem usage is in between swapping, usually huge balloon-ups in s/it come from lack of availability of resources.

Sol attn doesn't apply to the first 1-2 steps also, so if you canceled after 1 step seeing 400s/it then that didn't factor the speed up in. But still, obv 400s is wrong. My suspicion is if you restarted comfy in between your tests and made sure no other system app was pulling resources, your speeds would be in line. The only change between 1.5 and 1.6 is the Attention node switching from Zironic's SLA to the comfy UI built-in Sol/SLA version.

    MokiMok31Sep 12, 2026

@foxydits Well i made a few tests, this time with I2VA and Ref2VA with just 1 image reference and it went all good. By the look of things SLA with set 15 is the best clearest option

    MokiMok31Sep 13, 2026

@foxydits  Tested again and yes, same thing, speed for a single pass is twice (at least) more on a new ver. Only difference- no node Minimax H3 Sparse Attention on new ver.

From what I've seen, its a problem with the latest comfy, not this workflow. mmH3 is messed up for vram usage and speed across the board. I had to revert and go back to 1.5 for now.

Hi Fox, I am running into issues with seamless continuation suddenly causing changes in camera perspective after a few generations despite not prompting for it. Willing to bet this is mostly down to my prompting etc despite LLM use of guide and manual review.

Using a video as a reference seems to be especially difficult to maintain a continuous fixed shot. Do you have any tips for using a video as a reference for the intended actions in the video, rather than as a starting point/composition/subject reference?

    foxydits
    Author
    Sep 12, 2026

The main one is turbo LoRAs. They change angles more than anything. So:
    1. No Turbo
    2. Start prompts/first thing in summary: "A continuous shot from beginning to end."
    3. Describe what is happening during the overlap frames. If you're extending a video of Hermione drinking a potion in her dorm room, you describe the angle and shot composition, the brown wavy haired girl drinking a potion. Sometimes the overlap is 1~ second long. If the model doesn't account for that second in the prompt, it can get confused and just try to leap to something else.

Hello from loyal user and admirer of your workflow! :)
It is still by far the best existing WF for Minimax. May I, please, give a couple of suggestions of what would be an ideal addition to the next version? I added those things myself, but for many users it would be a great "built-in" addition :)
1 - A simple "Save text" node added to the output of prompt editor (in parallel). That's an invaluable thing, it automatically saves every changed prompt to a small txt file in choosen directory - never to worry about forgotten backup or lost prompt.
2 - "Extract first and last frames" node in the switching on\of group of "Upscale" - automatically saves first and last frame of final video as *.png, completely irreplaceable thing, saves a ton of time.

3 - "Prompt rewriter H3" node based on Gemma4 4b (+ official docs) (or the native lora for Qwen 2.5 9b) and connected in parallel to the same image\audio inputs that current promtp uses. It automatically (and very precisely) creates all the needed sections like <Subject>, <retention> etc, and describes pictures and audio very good. This node should not be connected to the prompt input: it should just output the text prompt to "Show text" node that has "copy" button, so the user may check the prompt and if he's satisfied with it, simply paste it into the main editor. That thing creates complex promts in 7 - 9 seconds on 5070ti.

    Thank you once again :)

    bangmandanSep 13, 2026

First frame is picture 1, but the rest of the video is basically a copy of video 1... I'm guessing I'm missing something. I've used your prompt as reference and only using 1 picture and 1 video. Hi Fox, Just wanna say how we truly apprecaiate your efforts. Just a quick question, I have been running into this error.

I am trying to create like a music video for a character. I created the first 10sec video and used a forced audio for it. It went great, now I'm trying to make it a seamless video (extend it) using the next 10 sec audio. I am using 1 file of the audio and just trimmed it in the <Audio 1> for the next part. The error I'm getting is "RuntimeError: shape mismatch: value tensor of shape [880, 32] cannot be broadcast to indexing result of shape [950, 32]"

I tried to disable the seamless option, while still using the next part of the audio and it started to generate.

sorry about the long post. Thanks again and more success to you! Let me know if you need more information. Cheers!

Hi, I have seen others get this error but I have never been able to recreate it myself. In a couple of cases it came down to that users were loading different versions of the model (finetunes), or didn't have the correct audio VAE selected (like they had the video VAE loaded in the audio VAE slot or something like that mixed up). Since you seemed to have genned the first part okay, I'm not really sure why you'd get a mismatch error for vid continuation assuming you have followed instructions (single pass ON, chose 'OG video has audio' and disabled the other in vid continuation section, disabled Previews #2, and #3). As long as your comfy is up to date, your nodes up to date... should be running with no problems. I wish I could recreate this error somehow, because I sure would like to solve it for others who experience it.

    Hi @foxydits

This is by far the best workflow available for Minimax H3. I’ve recently started playing around with RefMods and they are amazing and significantly speed up video generation by avoiding the model from having to regenerate the reference image every time in continuous shots. I tried to add in the custom nodes for RefMod loader myself but your workflow is quite complex. I don’t think I can do it without messing up all your work. When making your next version can you consider adding in the RefMod workflow? I think it’s perfect for what you made since RefMods shine for making long shots while trying to maintain character consistency. Your workflow is designed for primarily that so I think it would be the logical next step. Thanks for working so hard for all of us novices. I have had great enjoyment from what you have shared with us!

Hi, in researching VDN, it is not the direction I want to take my workflow at the moment. However, with the custom comfyUI nodes for it and the flexibility of toggles in my workflow (being able to turn off all the accelerators and such), I do not suspect it would be difficult for you to add. Most of the changes would be just at the model loader level.

Thank you so much, it looks great and I've been looking for seamless continuation.

However, is there any chance you would do a video tutorial on the workflow? I'm finding it a bit hard to understand.

    For example:

    1. To do video continuation, I suppose you need an initial video?

    2. What is overlap frames, and why is it needed if the load video UI can already trim the videos, and you use those to tell the workflow where to begin from?

    foxydits
    Author
    Sep 14, 2026

    Hi there.
    1. Yes, the whole point of video continuation is to continue a video. You can always use this workflow to gen normally. Video continuation is just an extra option.

    2. Overlap frames is how many frames you give to the model to study for continuation. The model only accepts multiples of 17n+5, so 5, 22, 39, 56. Meanwhile, the blue handle bars on the selector control the final resulting stitched video. The right handlebar determines the first frame the new gen will continue from, and the left handlebar controls when the video starts when all is said and done and the WF stitches the two videos together.

Great workflow. The "seedhunter" (ie 3 previews) is some real black magic, genning 3 versions in almost the same amount of time I used to do 1, wow.

My only feedback is that the video continuation part is confusing, you gotta toggle on/off so many options. This seems better as either a separate workflow, in a separate group (and therefore able to chain it infinite like Wan SVI) or if there was a node pack that did this in a clean way, like toggling between states.

Also, I'm just starting but it seems some people are suggesting that continuations should be kept in the latent space, instead of dropped in after being decoded? Or could have major drift like Wan SVI had when going real long. Any useful insight is welcomed.

I basically can't do the final upscale at 1.7 megapixels. The ComfyUI 34.x and older 1.5 versions of this workflow work flawless. Is this a ComfyUI 35 version issue or something in the new workflow that causing OOM issues on the final upscale? I'm using a 5090.

Last week it was the compiler, and maybe it still is this week, but yeah... just gotta hang tight until the storm passes. I'm being careful not to release any new versions until they get their shit together with this. It's not like many of us have RAM/VRAM to spare with a model like h3 lol

Best way is to set the "<Picture 2> is LAST FRAME" option. It pins the high quality image of your last frame into the latent and will force the model to repair or maintain quality, since the model's primary goal is to get to the final frame. If that final frame is a high fidelity shot of your character for instance, it will be high fidelity by time the gen ends, allowing you to extend infinitely as long as you can keep producing high quality end frames. It's a pain but it works.

    wkwjhskssksbg465Sep 18, 2026

@foxydits Wait... Is there some good way to get the last frame? Because you manually need to enter it for PICTURE 2, so I assume you have some shortcut besides screenshot and save and drag/drop.

Hi, thank you. If you can make it customizable as to which group it triggers, that could be interesting programming logic for future versions. Custom nodes are a big ask for people, and this workflow already has a lot of them, so I can't just add in stuff without it being a really big deal. But if there are ways to handle resets throughout the entire workflow on start/end actions, that would be neat to explore.

Hi! Here is it, just unpack it into subfolder "ResetOneFastBypasser" inside "Custom nodes". It does not need to be manually included in workflow, it creates a JS extension that monitors node "Enable Upscale Pass" and triggers it off after every run (no matter successful or aborted). Code is documented inside JS file.

Hi! Any tips on running this with just 8GB VRAM? I can generate the three 480p previews just fine, but I get OOM for upscaling anything longer than 2 seconds (768p).

Edit: okay all I had to do was enable force_unload

I am sorry, I don't know much about the sub 12GB VRAM territory. Likely my workflow would not be a good fit as it doesn't specialize in low VRAM setups.

@foxydits got ya thanks. Force unload worked for 1mp and 3 seconds but I’m getting OOME at 5 seconds now lol.

@gaming2927 8GB is rough. im on 16gb and am still testing how long and large i can generate. i usually stick with 1mp at 8 seconds. good news is that a new video vae was released and saves about 300Mb make sure to grab that.
