Re-l Mayer is one of the main protagonists of Ergo Proxy. She is 19 years old and is an inspector at the Citizen Intelligence Bureau of the dome city of Romdo. Granddaughter of Regent Donov Mayer, she is characterized by her cold, analytical, arrogant and somewhat spoiled personality, as well as her iconic style with black clothing and blue eye shadow.

After being attacked by “monsters” (Proxies) and becoming involved in the investigation of murders caused by AutoReivs infected with the Cogito virus, she joins Vincent Law and Pino on a journey outside Romdo to discover the truth about the Proxies and the world around her.
