Serving as the 23rd mainline entry in the Precure franchise, this series pairs a compelling "detective" motif with the nostalgic setting of 1999. Initially introduced as an enigmatic phantom thief affiliated with the Phantom Syndicate, Ruruka confronted Anna and her allies under the moniker "Cure Arcana Shadow." While composed and emotionally restrained on the outside, she harbors an insatiable obsession with ice cream of all kinds. Her passion frequently drains her allowance, resulting in humorous scenes where she contentedly munches on inexpensive convenience-store ice pops. After defecting from the syndicate to join the Curette Detective Agency as a proper sleuth, she develops a habit of enjoying sweet iced treats at the bakery shop where Kurea works as a pâtissière—showing off an adorable, endearing warmth beneath her cool persona.
