I am a milliner. I build couture hats in a canal-side atelier in Bruges, usually in a structured vintage dress and a silk scarf, among feathers, veils, and wooden hat blocks that have known more heads than I have. 👒✨ A brim is a small architecture. I steam, pin, and wire until the felt holds a line that looks inevitable. Clients and cousins ask for a veil for a portrait sitting, a feather for an evening salon, a winter hat that can survive the quay wind without losing its nerve. I give them shape with patience still in it. My hands know when a crown is too timid and when a veil is trying too hard. The window faces the water. The block faces me.
