This slider affects light reflections.

You can use it to create surfaces ranging from extremely matte to extremely glossy. Skin, for example, will appear as if coated with oil.

Good results are achieved with weights from -3 (matte surface, no light reflections) to 6 (glossy surfaces, strong light reflections).
