Retro Cel 90 for MOSS-Image: the look of 1990s TV anime. Flat two-tone cel shading, thin even lines, hard shadow shapes on faces, faded warm colour with fine film grain, and painted backgrounds. It is an original style trained on self-generated images, not on any show, studio or artist.

How to prompt: start with "retrocel90." and name the medium in a sentence, for example "retrocel90. Anime-style digital illustration. An adult woman in a mustard scarf leans against the window of a night bus." Describe the scene in plain sentences. Without a sentence that says how the picture is drawn, MOSS-Image may render a photograph.

Strength: 0.8 is the recommended value, and close-ups should stay at 0.8 or lower. At 1.0 the look is the same but faces get more distorted, and hands and small props hold up less well.

Tested with ComfyUI 0.42.1, MOSS-Image SFT (int8 ConvRot DiT), 25 steps, CFG 2.5, er_sde / simple, shift 5, 832x1248, loaded with LoraLoaderModelOnly.

Training: MOSS-Image SFT with ai-toolkit, 42 images, rank 32, 2000 steps, captions with the trigger first and the medium named.

Known limit: colours run more saturated than real 90s footage on bright daylight scenes. Naming a muted base colour in the prompt helps.
