CHEN UEN (December 27, 1958 - March 26, 2017), was a Taiwanese comic book artist and illustrator. He was born in Daxi Township, Taoyuan County, Taiwan . He graduated from the Sculpture Department of Fu Hsin Trade and Arts School. CHEN UEN was known for his comic book artwork in ink style, and gained recognition for his works Assassin Legend and Abi Sword in his early career. In 1990, he published the comic book Eastern Heroes in Japan, which was praised as "an Asian treasure" and awarded the "Excellent Award" by the Japan Cartoonists Association. He passed away on March 26, 2017, at the age of 58 due to a myocardial infarction.
