If you're doing live action movie styles, I think the film City of Lost Children (despite the name, children are in small part of the movie and most of it is Ron Perlman and adult mad scientist.) would be a good style to teach. It's fairly obscure, but former Interplay employees openly admit they shamelessly ripped off the very unique style for Fallout: A Post Nuclear Role Playing Game (which is not obscure).
