Clarice Ferguson, known as Blink, is a mutant character in Marvel Comics celebrated for her teleportation powers, which allow her to create spatial portals for instantaneous travel and offensive projectiles. She was created by writer Scott Lobdell and artist Joe Madureira, first appearing in the primary Marvel Universe (Earth-616) in Uncanny X-Men #317 (October 1994) during the "Phalanx Covenant" crossover. In this initial portrayal, Blink was a timid young mutant captured by the techno-organic Phalanx; fearing her unstable abilities, she ultimately sacrificed herself to destroy the entity Harvest, seemingly disintegrating in the process.

A reimagined alternate version of Blink from the dystopian "Age of Apocalypse" timeline (Earth-295) debuted in 1995, quickly becoming the character's most iconic iteration due to her confident demeanor, pink skin, pointed ears, and refined mastery of portal manipulation. Raised and mentored by Sabretooth in a world ruled by Apocalypse, this Blink served as a key operative for Magneto's X-Men, using her powers creatively in combat, including teleporting enemies or objects disruptively. Her popularity surged from this storyline, leading to her recruitment into the multiversal team known as the Exiles.

In Exiles #1 (2001), the "Age of Apocalypse" Blink was displaced to the primary reality and became a founding member, later assuming leadership of the team tasked with repairing damaged timelines under the guidance of the enigmatic Timebroker. She starred in a four-issue solo miniseries in 2001 and continued prominent roles in New Exiles and related stories. Meanwhile, the Earth-616 Blink was retroactively revealed to have survived her sacrifice, trapped in a pocket dimension; she was freed and manipulated by Selene during the 2009-2010 "Necrosha" arc before regaining her autonomy and occasionally aligning with the X-Men.
