Decided to share this merged comic book style model that I originally made just for myself. I have been trying to get a stable mix of different art models, and I feel like this is finally one of my best attempts so far!
Updates:
v4: More consistent and less busy look, experimenting with some Lora merges for a flatter look
v3: Updated with better curated models and a more consistent look
v2: Merged with updated initial models, and added a wider variety of models for better styles
Please do share your images, I am super excited to see them!
Good-To-Knows
Here are some thing to know/keep in mind about this model:
You can get detailed images out of relatively short prompts (I'll keep updating the sample images as and when I try more stuff)
Works really well with embeddings like EasyNegative.
Sometimes has trouble with male bodies; adding feminine in negative prompts tends to help for that.
Model handles NSFW quite well imo, but do note that its not a dedicated nsfw model. So you might have better success for only nsfw prompts elsewhere.
Reasoning
I find myself coming back to this model a lot. While other comic models get the 'texture' of a page and lines better, I gravitate towards clean lines, flat areas, and visual fidelity a lot - the kind found in modern comic book workflows. I feel like this model does that quite well.
I'm still quite new to the checkpoint game, having only trained a couple of loras and dreambooth checkpoints myself so far. I will be experimenting and hopefully versioning up this model as I find more stable and interesting models to incorporate!
Ingredients
Its a merge between ICoMix, Babes, OccidentalMix, Western Animation Diffusion, and a sprinking of Aniflatmix (overall I wanted something weighted towards non anime style faces). Additionally, I'm applying a LoRA that is this one very sensitive comic book style model that I have at extremely low weight (0.1).
Actual merge board recipe for the checkpoint can be found in the model info with v2 onwards.
Thanks to lostdog, alexds9, SpicyTree, Lykon, Duskfallcrew, and CyberAlchemist for their work on the initial models!

From a fellow Comic-book style lover and model merger - this looks like a fun model!
Congratulations! ^_^
Thank you! I hope people like it as much as I do
Hey some suggestions if you do another update: We've got some LoRA you could moosh, or else there's Marvels and Dungeons - there's some REALLY good content. This is an amazing mix btw - and Babes is a great start, and same with iComix!
I'll definitely be experimenting more with a couple of them! Fun fact: I made the first image for this model as a direct inspiration from the image you're using of the girl with pink hair in your colab guide :D
@MachineCode OH AMAZING! XD Yea that colab is hilarious because I wanted something that used that script OUTSIDE of a SD instance, because if i'm using runpod etc - I can't get it to work on runpod YET - (AS i'm not a programmer) - but as soon as i can re-impliment the 3.1 code from the OG notebook - i'll update the colab :3
@duskfallcrew Believe me, I am a programmer and that runpod method is really difficult. I am trying to just create my own docker image which will hopefully be better
@MachineCode Camenduru has a docker thing coded up on HF, runpod DOES have a docker way of doing it - see the problem is i can't do things locally LOL, so it's faster to use gdrve to HF for me XD - I mean SURE I CAN UPLOAD Locally i just can't merge locally.
Also calling it now: SD Is biased towards DC, if not mostly just like classic comics - which is ODD. I'm TRYING to get more marvel stuff made, I made a joe mad lora, i've done a few comic style models, i made a big huge mj-comic fusion lora - i'll test those on stream tomorrow instead of making more content i'll do some testing on stream with some of my lora :P
Very good especially at portraits.
Thanks!
I'm new to ai art and i noticed in the gallery below some of the example images have mcbsMachinecodesComic_v1 as its model but others have MCBS_v1, or ZTesting_mcbsMachinecodesComic_v1, What's the difference?
First of all, welcome!
The difference is what people name their models on their computers. I am the uploader, the models are called MCBS_v1 on my machine for example.
@MachineCode that you very much i thought it was a different version and couldnt find it,
