Domino, whose real name is Neena Thurman, is a Marvel Comics mutant mercenary best known for her association with X-Force. An impersonator (the shapeshifter Copycat) first appeared in The New Mutants #98 (February 1991), while the genuine Domino debuted in a cameo in X-Force #8 (March 1992) and fully in X-Force #11 (June 1992), created by Fabian Nicieza and Rob Liefeld. Born as part of the clandestine government Project Armageddon aimed at creating super-soldiers, she was the sole survivor, manifesting probability-manipulating "luck" powers that subconsciously alter events in her favor. Raised briefly in a church after escaping, Domino became a skilled mercenary, joining groups like the Six Pack and eventually aligning with Cable's X-Force after her impersonation was revealed.
Domino's abilities make her an expert marksman and combatant, often operating as a pragmatic anti-heroine with a sarcastic wit. She has had romantic ties, including a marriage to genius Milo Thurman, and complex relationships with teammates like Cable. Key arcs include her role in early X-Force missions, solo miniseries exploring her origins and mercenary life, and participation in events like "Messiah Complex" protecting the mutant messiah Hope Summers.
In recent years, Domino starred in her own ongoing series (2018) and limited runs like Domino: Hotshots (2019), joined Wolverine's black-ops X-Force, and featured in Krakoa-era stories as part of the mutant nation's intelligence operations. As of late 2025, she continues to appear in team books and crossovers, maintaining her status as a resilient, luck-driven operative in the X-Men family.
