I actually tried to make an Illustrious version but it failed. I'll try again when I learn more about Illustrious.
@CitronLegacy really? interesting. i recently tried doing my own OC as illu, and it came out pretty terrible as well. my pony version works better. Hmm.
@SomebodyOnceToldMeh Yes it is indeed interesting. Illustrious training works a little differently than Pony.
When training with the same dataset as Pony:
90% of my Illustrious character Loras work but 10% fail.
50% of my Illustrious style Loras fail.
(Note: when training Pony I have a 97% success rate)
I'm pretty sure there is a trick to training Illustrious like a small change that makes work better but I haven't figured it out yet.
I'm tentatively thinking the way it learns details is different than Pony. For example one of my style Loras works on Pony but the Illustrious version hyper-focus on character's noses which makes the art look really strange lol
