Nuo Opera, also known as Ghost Opera, is the oldest form of entertainment dance of the Han ethnic group that worships gods and dances ghosts, drives away plagues and avoids epidemics, and represents Anqing.

Nuo Opera originated from the Fangxiang clan's exorcism activities during the Shang and Zhou dynasties. After the Han Dynasty, it gradually developed into a ritual ceremony with a strong sense of entertainment and musical elements. Around the Song Dynasty, due to the influence of folk songs, dances, and dramas, Nuo Yi began to evolve into a Nuo opera aimed at rewarding gods and fulfilling their wishes.
