This Lora allows you to generate Starsector ships. Generates at 4 times the resolution because that's the only way i was able to get it to work well. Works fine at any combination of resolutions between 256 and 1536.

Largely understands weapon mounts, launch bays and engine descriptions, but sometimes/often up. Can work without trigger words, and even with empty prompt.

Trained for 30k steps on 650 images with lr=0.000025. Frigates excluded from the dataset. I used Ostris AI-Toolkit. Descriptions generated by Gemma 4.

Recommended prompt structure:

Starsector ship sprite on black background. <list of weapon mounts, launch bays and engine>. <size, tech, style, designation>. <short description of overall hull shape>. <short description of armor color and texture>. <additional info about locations and look of prominent details>.

For Z-Image, you get visibly worse results at lower quants, I recommend going with Q8 gguf. Additionally, I recommend 16 steps, as at 8 there's clear visible noise.

For Klein, 4 steps are okay, and flux-2-klein-9b-Q6_K.gguf works very well.

Z-Image version is a bit more creative, but follows prompt at lot less, and gens are more often unaesthetic.

Klein version is very coherent, very stable, follows prompt a bit better, but a lot more repetitive in gens.
