A Grimpoteuthis, also known as a "Dumbo octopus," is a type of deep-sea umbrella octopus. The name comes from its ear-like fins protruding from the top of its head-like body, resembling the ears of Disney's Dumbo the Elephant. These octopuses live in extreme depths, often several thousand meters below sea level, where pressure is high and light is scarce. They're known for their unique method of propulsion: instead of jet propulsion like most octopuses, they flap their ear-like fins to move around. Grimpoteuthis species vary in size and color, but they typically have a soft, bell-shaped body. Their diet consists mainly of crustaceans and worms found on the ocean floor. They're interesting creatures due to their rare habitat and distinctive appearance.
