Background
Batman: Mad Love was first published by DC Comics in 1994 as a one-shot comic under the Batman Adventures line (which was set in the continuity of Batman: The Animated Series).
It’s most famous for providing Harley Quinn’s origin story, showing how she went from Dr. Harleen Quinzel, psychiatrist at Arkham Asylum, to the Joker’s accomplice and lover.
The story was later adapted into an episode of The New Batman Adventures (also written by Dini and directed by Timm).
