The monsters in Metaphor, were influenced by 15th century Dutch painter Hieronymus Bosch. In the game they are ironically called "Humans".

I'm playing through Metaphor ReFantazio at the moment and I am really enjoying the story but also the renaissance inspired aesthetics combined with the usual Atlus anime. Its also got this sort of groovy 60s feel to it as well. So naturally I thought I would capture the essence of the style. This is primarily inspired by the promotional/concept art, not the game or cut-scenes.
