The first Mutadons were created by InGen as one of many experimental hybrids at a research facility on Ile Saint-Hubert, originally planned for Jurassic World. However, after the facility was abandoned when the Distortus rex breached the facility in 2010, the Mutadons managed to escape and were left to roam the island freely for the next seventeen years. The first specimens bred and established a population becoming competitors for Velociraptors.
