Creator's note: Noctilume is part of my first Krea 2 LoRA release series. I am still experimenting and learning, but the dataset was carefully selected, individually captioned, and tested across multiple checkpoints and strengths before release. Feedback and shared generations are genuinely welcome.
Noctilume is a nocturnal style centered on forms that appear to contain their own illumination. Light does not simply fall across the subject—it lives beneath a surface, moves through fractures, shines through translucent , or reveals a miniature world inside an otherwise dark structure.
The style combines deep cinematic shadow, weathered or elegant surfaces, and localized amber or jewel-toned radiance. Its strongest results usually contain one convincing source of impossible light rather than an entire scene covered in generic neon glow.
What it does
Creates the impression of illumination held inside a person, creature, object, or landscape.
Encourages luminous seams, fractured shells, translucent structures, reflective water, and bioluminescent detail.
Uses darkness and negative space to keep the central source of light visually legible.
Introduces cyan, violet, blue-black, amber, and gold while retaining deep contrast.
Works at intimate scale—faces, hands, eyes, jewelry, small artifacts—and monumental environmental scale.
Supports animals, portraits, mechanisms, architecture, landscapes, and surreal material studies.
Noctilume is not intended to turn every image into neon. Its core contrast is a restrained dark exterior surrounding a deliberate luminous interior.
Best used for
Luminous interiors and objects with visible inner mechanisms
Dark fantasy portraits and ceremonial figures
Bioluminescent animals and botanical life
Weathered glass, porcelain, stone, metal, and antique machinery
Moonlit water, caves, forests, ruins, and gothic architecture
Glowing fissures, translucent , and contained miniature worlds
Atmospheric album art, posters, and visual-development pieces
Usage
No trigger word is required. Load the LoRA and write the prompt normally in natural language.
Recommended strength:
0.8Useful range:
0.6–1.0Subtle nocturnal influence:
0.6–0.7Best general balance:
0.75–0.85Full transformation:
0.9–1.0
Lower strengths preserve more realism, contemporary styling, and literal prompt structure. Higher strengths amplify dark shells, internal light, fractured surfaces, gothic atmosphere, antique forms, and structural transformation. Around 0.8 gave the best balance in controlled testing.
Known tendencies and control tips
Noctilume followed subjects well around 0.7–0.85, but becomes increasingly transformative near 1.0:
It favors gothic or antique settings, weathered surfaces, fractures, dark outer shells, and warm inner illumination.
Blue-black shadows and amber highlights may replace a requested neutral palette.
Antique machinery, old architecture, ornate framing, or vintage-looking clothing can appear without being requested.
Portraits may acquire cracks, embedded structures, or stylized material .
Higher strengths can exaggerate silhouettes, internal mechanisms, and contrast.
Some tests introduced floral or decorative clothing in otherwise plain human scenes.
For strict realism, contemporary clothing, clean surfaces, or literal , use approximately 0.6–0.7 and specify those qualities explicitly. Use 0.9–1.0 when a more complete gothic-luminous transformation is desired.
