Kate gained widespread recognition for her role as Penny Lane in the film "Almost Famous" (2000), which earned her a Golden Globe Award and an Academy Award nomination. Throughout the 2000s, she starred in several popular romantic comedies, including "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days" (2003), "You, Me and Dupree" (2006), and "Bride Wars" (2009).
