Anyone who's lived in a wheelchair for a decade will know the massive difference some padding can do on a hip belt (Try sitting in your car for 16 hours with your seatbelt on and you'll understand why we make everything with thick shiny neoprene. Ain't about looks as much as function, though looking good while functional is a benefit :P)
