Terrence "Terry" McGinnis, known as Batman Beyond, is a superhero in the DC Comics universe who succeeds Bruce Wayne as Batman in a futuristic setting. In the Justice League Unlimited episode "Epilogue" (2005), it is disclosed that Amanda Waller, through Project Batman Beyond, genetically engineered Terry to be Bruce Wayne's biological son by overwriting his father's DNA, ensuring a worthy successor. Integrated into broader DC continuity through crossovers such as Superman/Batman Annual #4 (2010), Futures End (2014), and the DC Rebirth era (2016 onward), Terry has faced threats like the returned Joker, joined future iterations of the Justice League, and navigated personal challenges while upholding the Batman legacy with resourcefulness, humor, and reliance on technology.
