This decision taken by dorm administrator Carl Meisser and Professor Watts. They thought perhaps Serge could makes Gilbert a man but unlike, Serge had to cope with this troubled boy.

Serge's father is Aslan Battour and his mother is named as Paiva, who was a Romani-woman. Aslan was a student at Lacombrade Academy, Aslan suffered from tuberculosis throughout his life and died early on in Serge's childhood.
