My Win 10 updated Defender started screaming: Trojan:Win32/Wacatac.B!ml
Probably a false positive, but nevertheless it will spook a lot of people.
I do understand that but I guarantee it's a false alarm. Defender's got an overkill and very dumb string comparison. Can happen anytime anywhere, sorry.
Windows Defender suffers from a false positive detection issue during file downloads since February, randomly detecting files as infected by Win32/Wacatac.B!ml. Then, if you do a scan over the file, Defender itself does not detect anything. It detects as infected even files types that cannot be infected by a virus.
@sirdrak Absolutely. It is not the first time and definitely not the last one.
GOOD TOOL!but why it can't recognise PNG and jpeg pic?it's quite an issue
It can - it is it's purpose. Please be more specific regarding what is not right - and be sure images you are trying to read do contain SD info.
Trojan detected !!!!
No, there are no trojans or viruses. It is false alarm caused by similarity of some random byte queue. You can block program access to network with firewall (it never accesses any network resources). If you are unexperienced, you can just delete the program and never use it.
