Illustrious-XL ControlNet Openpose
Train by fengyin/windsingai on huggingface
Match the preprocessor type and this ControlNet model.
Not sure why the download filename is different from my upload name which is "IllustriousXL_openpose". I recommend renaming the file after downloading to avoid confusion.

Very useful!
THX! You do the best!
Incredible... thank you so much!
good
how it work? it is .safetensors file
yes
It works like .pth, but it's better because it's more secure and smaller in size.
save it to stable-diffusion-webui/extensions/sd-webui-controlnet/models
Use controlnet as usual
- Select openpose
- In Preprocessor, select openpose
- In Model, select illustriousXL_v10 (If it is not available, press the blue button next to it to refresh)
@nutrsu Hi, i downloaded it and put i in the right folder, but in a1111 in extensions its not there i cant activate it, can u help me?
@nutrsu I also recommend renaming with OpenPose in the name, that way it will be automatically detected. I did originally name it that, but CivitAI renamed it.
@error40356 Have you already used controlnet in a1111?
If you have already used it, you don't need to activate anything.
Just use it as normal, just select the model as illustriousXL_v10.
I can't use it. I correctly connected the nodes to the OpenPose images, but the image generation is still random.
Very accurate, but generation takes a lot of time... What is an average time for generating with this Controlnet?
It depends a lot on your PC, but using a controlnet always takes longer than without due to the additional steps.
I'm trying to use it with Forge, but it's not recognizing the file. It's in the same directory as all my other ControlNet models, I've restarted and refreshed the list multiple times, but no luck.
I’d recommend checking online for some XL models made for ControlNet—there are a few good ones out there.

I’ve personally used the (diffusers_xl_canny_full and diffusers_xl_depth_full) models, and they’ve worked well for me.
I’m also running everything through Forge Web-UI.
Also, if you haven’t already, make sure to update both your Web-UI and the ControlNet extension.
That can fix a lot of issues mostly.
You need to rename the file to "IllustriousXL_openpose"
@SesotIV don't you have the issue when pictures generated with illustrious and any controlnet model have noticeable overall worst quality?
Not working for me neither
Maybe skill issue?
I assumed by 'Match the preprocessor type and this ControlNet model.' you meant use 'OpenPose Preprocessor' with this which I have done. Unfortunately i've gotten so pretty bad prompt adherence with that method, Not sure if I've done something wrong.
You only need the preprocessor if you are converting from a character image to an open pose.
You likely need to adjust the strength or other settings on your controlnet node.
Not to mention every model is different, some illustrious models are mixed with pony which can negatively impact how it uses controlnet.
Anytime you put outside influence on a model, it will often react in an unexpected way. Your issue might not be the controlnet, but the model itself.
can you do an animal open pose model please?
It works very well, but I can't find option for Canny Depth map, only skeleton
dunno how to use it, i load this controlnet model, and paint a pic that is black background and white line, painted by myself. i loaded the pic and "apply controlnet model" strength is 0.9, but it just didn't work, if i set to a higher strength like 7 or 8 or 9, the pic turned out weird, totally not what i want it to be
does the problem is the pic i painted? if it does, then how am i supposed to do?
I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I have this set as the controlnet model, and the openposepreprocessor, and it won't show the openpose preview image, only just a black image.
Is there anyone who can help? I'm using comfyUI locally. Latest stable version. Trying to do this with waiNSSFWIllustrious_v150.
Images made with this are coming out terrible for some reason; pixelated, terrible coloring. How do I solve this?
