MGC is a lightweight, portable app with a simple goal:
Make it easy to view, edit, and convert metadata from .png images generated by ComfyUI, Stable Diffusion, or TensorART—and make it all play nice with Civitai.

    šŸ”’ Update!

If your antivirus flags it as a false positive, don’t worry—it’s because I used auto-py-to-exe to package everything neatly and hide a bunch of Python folders.
I'm currently waiting for the digital signature.
And yes—it's open source. You can also find the version on my GitHub, or just check the included files in the article.

šŸ’” Tip: If you prefer not to run it on your PC, try the Google Colab version. It's simpler, runs in your browser, and works just as well.

    šŸŽÆ Why I Made This

Honestly, I was just tired of copying prompts manually.
When uploading images from TensorART to Civitai, the metadata often goes missing—even if Tiefsee can read it, retyping everything was a pain.

So I built MGC to fix that.

    With it, you can:

    • Browse your images in a gallery view

    • Instantly see all prompts and settings

    • Copy, edit, and save them however you want

    • Export them in a Civitai-compatible format

    šŸ› ļø Key Features

    • āœ… Thumbnail gallery (just drop a folder or drag in images)

    • āœ… Supports .png, .jpg, .jpeg, and .webp

    • āœ… Quick navigation with ↑ and ↓ keys

    • āœ… Clearly shows:

      • Positive & Negative Prompts

      • Steps, Sampler, Seed, Model, etc.

    • āœ… One-click ā€œCopy Allā€

    • āœ… Convert to Civitai format instantly

    • āœ… Save prompts as .txt or embed them back into .png

    • āœ… Language toggle (English & Spanish)

    • āœ… Alerts you if metadata is missing (especially for .jpg)

    šŸ“¦ How to Use It

    1. Extract the .zip wherever you like (even a USB stick).

    2. Run MGC_byAGGA.exe.

    3. Drop a folder or open one with the šŸ“‚ button.

    4. Click a thumbnail or use the arrows.

    5. That’s it — the metadata shows up automatically.

    From there, you can:

    • Copy or edit the prompts

    • Save them as .txt

    • Save them as .png with fixed metadata

    • Convert them to Civitai format

    ā„¹ļø Requirements

    • Works on Windows 8 or newer

    • Doesn’t need installation

    • Doesn’t need internet

    • Just works šŸ™‚

    🧪 Still Improving

    This app is still growing.
If you find a weird image format, or have ideas for features you’d love to see, feel free to share them.
I made this for myself… but also for you, if you’re tired of redoing the same steps every time. šŸ˜…

šŸ‘Øā€šŸ’» Made by a frustrated user (me)

Who just wanted his prompts back.

    Description

I did this because I usually test some Lora in TensorArt and sometimes the metadata is hidden when uploading them to Civitai.

Well, I already requested the certification, but it doesn't matter much. You can go here to see the .py files: https://civitai.com/articles/13925

@devon_rex18406 dude, Avast is basically malware, I'd not advice to use .

Avast is not a real antivirus... Better not using it.

    Hello

In virustotal, your software here is getting flagged for potential malware. This is most likely because you did not digitally sign the application.

    https://old.reddit.com/r/dartlang/comments/neapcg/avast_thinks_the_generated_exe_is_infected/gyh6ujt/

See example here. I'm not sure what you wrote it in but best security practices is to make sure your applications are digitally signed.

Hi, I made this in Visual Studio Code and packaged it with auto py to exe. I didn't know I needed more stuff. I'll see how to fix it. Thanks n.n)/

@waltfeldĀ Thanks, there is also the version without the Google Collab gallery and if you have Visual Studio Code you only need the assets folder and the .py and that's it, although it is annoying that something like Avast marks me as a virus being a program that is almost impossible to uninstall but that's how it is hehe XD

@Herrscher_AGGAĀ It happens. I only know a little bit of coding, and been my way around the modding community for various games. So this is a pretty common flag that goes up.

@waltfeldĀ Thanks anyway, you got me out of a bind. I'm more used to working in colab so I've never made .exe files :3

@Herrscher_AGGAĀ Eh, it's a learning process like anything else. :)

Hi, sorry for the delay... I've been getting a lot of feedback since I commented on the last civitai article. Well, the code is in the article and on GitHub. https://github.com/HerrscherAGGA/MGC---Metadata-Gallery-Converter-
