✨ [BSS] – Artistic Slider (XL/IL/PN)
The Artistic Slider is a LoRA designed to make your generations more expressive, detailed, and visually appealing.
It enhances images by adding richness to textures, clarity to details, and a subtle artistic touch.
In many cases, it can even improve weak generations (like poorly rendered eyes) — not because it was trained for that, but as a side effect of the paired dataset (ordinary → detailed/artistic).
🎨 Why Two Versions?
I couldn’t decide on a single “best” outcome — both variants produce great but different results:
v1.0 – delivers powerful, crisp, and strong detail enhancement.
v1.0 (Alt) – produces more aesthetic, soft, and visually balanced outputs.
Both are valid choices depending on your taste. Personally, I lean towards the Alt version, but try them both and see which fits your workflow.
✨ Highlights
🖌️ Adds expressiveness and artistic flair
🎨 Enhances fine details and improves overall quality
👁️ Sometimes fixes weak generations (eyes, micro-details) as a side effect
🧩 Works with most XL-based models and combines well with other sliders
✅ Usage Tips
Recommended strength: 0 → +0.8 (higher values may cause defects, especially in ComfyUI)
Avoid going above +1, as it can sometimes distort the image
Compatible with styles and other LoRAs
Can be combined with my other sliders for even more control
Works on both portraits and landscapes

I tested both of these at 0.5 and 0.8 against an existing prompt that I remixed with the same seed all 4 times. Better is subjective, but both altered the resulting images in very pleasing ways without straying substantially from what was detailed in the prompt.
v1.0 (Alt) definitely has less overall impact while still adding something to the image.
v1.0 is probably worth using as a part of generating a batch of images, stepping through the strength (0.1 -> 0.8 or 0.8 -> 0.1) for each generation to see what it spits out. I don't think it's one of those LoRAs where you're going to find that there's a strength you set it at and leave it there.
Thanks a lot for such a thoughtful review! 🙏
Really glad you tested both and shared your impressions — this kind of feedback helps me (and others) a lot! 💜
thank you for a descriptive review! Helps us casual hobby image generators understand how to use a new tool!
