Strange Days Workflow with Gaussian Noise
This is a demo for using latent guassian noise in place of an empty latent image.
You can use it in three modes:
Full workflow including Ultimate Upscale
Preview workflow with Ultimate Upscale switched off
Upscale images from preview mode
Use the Fast Goups Muter nodes to switch on and off groups. There are notes in the workflow for guidance on the settings for each mode.
You will probably need to download some custom nodes to run this. You can use Find Missing Nodes in ComfyUI Manager to fetch them.
Node packs you will need include:

FAQ
Q. What does the guassian noise do?
A. It gives the sampler a head start by giving it some noise to work with instead of just an empty latent. The results tend to be a bit more interesting. The subject is less likely to have a simple centered composition.

New Features 17/12/2023
You can now create outputs for both empty latent and guassian noise options
There is also an image compare group that produces a nicely format comparison
The workflow has been simplied using pipe nodes
Hope you have lots of fun this this.

The results are gorgeous, but what does the latent gaussian noise actually do for the image?
It gives the sampler a head start by giving it some noise to work with instead of just an empty latent. The results tend to be a bit more interesting.
@Akatsuzi聽Ah okay.
Is there any way of comparing? I guess we can just create an empty latent side by side, with the same seed? But would it be a relevant comparison or just totally random anyway?
@mnemic聽Yes, I am adding that feature this morning. I tested it last night. I'll poke you when its ready.
Thx for the workflow. I can learn two things from it that are really useful: how to use the Gaussian noise and how to mute gropus with the muter nodes.
this is SUPER COOL! Having tons of fun, thank you Suzie!
This is really awesome
It is great! You should write a short article about it, explaining how to get the better results out of it.
