This method is pretty demanding on your system, around 100 sec for a fully upscaled Image at x2 with a 3090

First of all this method tend to break the original feel of your image, brighting it, changing the tone, color etc...
For me it works best with Semi realistic illustrious model or kinda realistic anime or realistic pony model

The model you use change a lot the render, also the first Denoise step is very crucial

For realistic image from model like CyberPony or Ilustrious realistic model I will recommand you to use an SDXL model like JuggernautXL

Maybe there is better SDXL realistic model for this use but I'm not aware of, if you find something good tell me

For semi realistic illustrious or pony, I found Ilustmix work pretty well, I used V9 for most of my image but the new version probably work too, I lower the First Stage Denoise to 0.6 or 0.65 for this use

You can prompt but off course less the denoise less it will apply, you can't really change the composition like an img2img workflow with the controlnet applied, I'v never really tried to use it as an img2img workflow

Here is some of the control you have

Depending on your system you will need to find the right spot for this upscale, with a 3090 and 64gb of ram I can do it at x2 for the resize, you may try lower resize if this take forever or you get OOM, I'm sometime using other upcale model but Remacri for me is the best all around

Here you can change some of the settings, I'v never really tried to play with ControlNet strength
I'm only playing with First Stage Denoise

Here is your Loader, you can get rid of Sage attention node if you have error with it, it only give you like a faster gen by few sec, sometimes 5sec or less.

Here is some few exemple, all the images are only purely generated without additional detailer, I'v disable Color Match to really see how it change the image color.
