Civitai Artist Discovery

Browse a day of Civitai one artist at a time, ordered by the artwork you actually react to instead of by what is already popular.

The problem it solves

Civitai's feed is image-by-image and ordered by engagement, so the same accounts surface repeatedly and everyone else disappears. Measured across one full day in the app's own archive — 26,792 images from 3,390 creators — the top 1% of creators collected 32% of all reactions, and 706 creators received none at all.

This app takes one calendar day, groups every image by the artist who made it, and gives you one card per creator. Then it orders those cards by what you have actually reacted to on Civitai, rather than by who is already winning.

My discovery

A second tab reads your own reaction history from Civitai and reports what it finds. It shows numbers and lists only — it never displays artwork — and everything is calculated on your computer.

Headline counts, your reaction mix, and the creators you keep reacting to without following.

The clearest signal in the whole app: creators whose work you react to repeatedly but have never followed. Each row can be followed without leaving the page.

Artists you have never followed or reacted to, found by searching recent Civitai artwork for the tags that most distinguish your taste. Every suggestion states its reason. They are ranked by how many of your signals a creator matches — never by how popular they are, which is the whole point.

Why tags appear twice

Raw counts are dominated by tags that describe most of Civitai rather than you. On the account above, the three most common tags across reacted images were woman, solo and looking at viewer. The second panel discounts each tag by how often it appears on Civitai generally, which surfaces the tags that actually separate your taste from everyone else's.

Your data

• Everything is stored and analysed on your own computer, in %LOCALAPPDATA%\CivitaiArtistDiscovery. Nothing is uploaded anywhere.

• The connection is read-only unless you deliberately enable follows and reactions. Even if Civitai grants broader permission, the app keeps writing locked until you turn it on.

• Your Civitai authorization is encrypted with Windows DPAPI and never reaches the browser page.

• Disconnect revokes the authorization at Civitai and deletes the analysis. Your archived days are kept.

• The app never publishes posts, votes, comments, or spends Buzz. Following creators and reacting to images remain locked unless you explicitly enable those social actions.

Before you install

This build is unsigned. Windows SmartScreen will show "Windows protected your PC" — choose More info → Run anyway if you trust the source. Some antivirus products may object to any unsigned application. On a work computer that is usually policy rather than anything in the file, and running it on a personal machine is the simpler answer.

Code signing is not worth its cost at alpha, and an ordinary certificate would not remove the SmartScreen prompt anyway. Verify the download instead:

That proves you have the file that was published. It does not prove the build matches the source — only a reproducible or signed build would.

Known limits

• Windows only. The encrypted credential storage is Windows-specific.

• civitai.com only. PG and PG-13 artwork; civitai.red is not supported.

• Checkpoint and LoRA analysis is not built yet.

• Building a day is slow by nature — 200 images per request against roughly 27,000 in a day. Already-built days reopen instantly.

• The port 8765 must be free while you connect.

• Suggestions improve as the app builds up a comparison sample, so the first sync's recommendations are the weakest they will ever be.

What would help most

This is an alpha, and the useful reports are the ones the author cannot produce alone — the first tester found a permission bug that only appears on an account without prior write access, and an antivirus that the development machine had no opinion about.

• Does connecting behave on a machine that has never authorized this app before?

• Do day boundaries land correctly in your timezone?

• Does an interrupted collection resume properly?

• Is the personal ordering any good for taste that differs from the author's? It has only ever been tested against one set of preferences.

When reporting something, mention your Windows version, your timezone, and whether your connection is read-only or has follows and reactions enabled.
