Purpose :

If you've been generating AI images for years and, like me, ended up with thousands or maybe even millions of images that you're keeping mostly because you want to keep the prompts, this might save you a ton of space.

How It works :

This is a simple Python script for cleaning up huge ComfyUI output folders.

Just drop clean_duplicates.py and the .bat file into the folder you want to clean, then run the .bat.

It :
• Scans only that folder, not your entire drive
• Reads the prompt from the image metadata
• Compares the actual text prompts
• Ignores seed, CFG, steps, sampler, scheduler, model, and other workflow settings
• Keeps one image for each unique prompt
• Moves the other images with the same prompt into a _duplicates folder
• Leaves images without prompt metadata alone

So if you generated 50 images with the same prompt but different seeds, you keep one and the other 49 get moved out of the way.

Nothing gets permanently deleted by default, so you can check the _duplicates folder before getting rid of anything.

Made mainly for people with absolutely unreasonable amounts of ComfyUI outputs... welcome.
