comfyQ 1.0.3 - Install and Use

    ==============================

comfyQ is a ComfyUI add-on that finds the models your workflow is missing and

downloads them in one click. It also adds folder buttons that open the folder

holding each model. It works with both node styles (classic Nodes 1 and the

newer Nodes 2) and with workflows that use subgraphs.

comfyQ adds no nodes to your workflows, so workflows you save with it still

open fine for people who don't have it. It needs no extra Python packages.

    INSTALL

    -------

    1. Close ComfyUI if it is running.

    2. Open your ComfyUI "custom_nodes" folder.

    - Windows portable build:

    ComfyUI_windows_portable\ComfyUI\custom_nodes

    - Desktop app or manual install: the "custom_nodes" folder inside

    your ComfyUI folder.

    3. Copy the "comfyQ" folder from this zip into "custom_nodes".

    You should end up with:

    ...\ComfyUI\custom_nodes\comfyQ\__init__.py

    ...\ComfyUI\custom_nodes\comfyQ\server.py

    ...\ComfyUI\custom_nodes\comfyQ\web\comfyq.js

Make sure it is not nested twice (custom_nodes\comfyQ\comfyQ\...).

    4. Start ComfyUI. In the console window you should see comfyQ in the list

    of loaded custom nodes.

    5. In the browser, a "comfyQ" button appears at the bottom right of the

canvas. If you don't see it, refresh the page (F5).

    Other ways to install:

    - Git: from the custom_nodes folder run

    git clone https://github.com/emperorofrome13/ComfyQ comfyQ

    - ComfyUI-Manager: "Install via Git URL" and paste

    https://github.com/emperorofrome13/ComfyQ

To update: delete the old custom_nodes\comfyQ folder, copy in the new one,

    and restart ComfyUI.

To uninstall: delete custom_nodes\comfyQ and restart ComfyUI.

    USE

    ---

    Download missing models

    1. Open a workflow (for example one of ComfyUI's templates).

    2. If models are missing, the button turns green and reads

    "comfyQ · N missing".

    3. Click it. The panel lists each missing model.

    4. Click "Download" next to one, or "Download all".

    5. Each download shows a progress bar with size and speed.

    6. When the last download finishes, comfyQ refreshes ComfyUI's model

lists by itself (like pressing R). The missing-model warnings clear

and you can press Run. No page reload is needed.

You can also download straight from a node: missing models get a green

download button beside the model name. Or right-click the node and choose

    "comfyQ: Download Missing Model".

Models with no link in the workflow show "Add URL". Click it, paste the

model's direct download link (for example a Hugging Face "resolve" link),

and click "Download to Selected Folder". The folder and filename are

    filled in for you.

    Open a model folder

A small folder button appears beside model pickers (checkpoint, UNet,

CLIP / text encoder, VAE, LoRA, ControlNet, upscale and others). Click it

to open the folder holding that model in Windows Explorer. The window

opens in front of the browser, on the same monitor.

Advanced (click "Advanced" in the panel)

    - Buttons to open the input, output and custom_nodes folders.

    - Open any model folder, and refresh model lists by hand.

    - Download any file from a URL into a model folder you choose.

    - Unpack Subgraphs: turn every subgraph back into ordinary nodes, keeping

all nodes and links. Remove Subgraphs deletes them instead.

    - Copy the model names used by the selected nodes.

    Moving the button and panel

Drag the comfyQ button or the panel header to anywhere on screen. comfyQ

remembers the spot. To put it back, use the top menu:

Extensions > comfyQ > Reset Button Position.

Everything is also in that menu, and in the right-click menu on the canvas.

    TROUBLESHOOTING

    ---------------

    No comfyQ button

    - Check the folder is custom_nodes\comfyQ with init.py directly inside.

    - Restart ComfyUI, then refresh the browser page.

    - Look in the ComfyUI console for an error mentioning comfyQ.

    A download fails

    - Some models need you to log in or accept a license first (some Hugging

Face and Civitai models). Download those in your browser and put them in

the model folder shown in the panel.

    - The link must be a direct file link, not a web page.

Model still shows as missing after download

    - Press R in ComfyUI, or Advanced > Refresh Models.

    - Check the file went into the right folder (click the folder button).

    GOOD TO KNOW

    ------------

    - Folders open on the computer running ComfyUI. If you use ComfyUI from

another device, the window appears on the ComfyUI machine.

    - If you run ComfyUI with --listen on a shared network, anyone who can

reach it can also use comfyQ's download and open-folder features, just

    like the rest of ComfyUI.

    - Download history is cleared when ComfyUI restarts. Downloads in progress

are saved as .part files until they finish.

    - Tested on ComfyUI 0.40 to 0.43, Nodes 1 and Nodes 2.
