FLUX Pastry Font
Flux training can be quite expensive so if you enjoy this LORA please consider donating any amount of buzz, give a like, post a review directly to the model page, share with a friend, leave a comment, buy my badge from the shop or do whatever you want to support me. Thanks
Inspired by @mnemic's SC2 font experiment I decided to try this myself, can you teach Flux to write using a custom font you made ? Well, turns out you can, with some caveats.
For this LORA I've had to painfully create each letter of the alphabet as pastry / croissant, merge them all in one file, adjust the colors and train.
UPDATE: Wow, I'm blown away to be honest, you can prompt Flux to make the text out of anything (tried dollars, metal, honey, water etc) and it will keep the pastry texture ... this is crazy.
Even though it was trained with "DeverPastryFont" I found that the lora didn't respond well when mentioning this trigger but instead the model can be guided towards the training data by adding descriptions like "made of pastry", "made of croissant".
Stats for nerds:
idea + tests to come up with the training data (26 images): 3-4h
compositing the letters into a font sheet image, adjusting background color so that they all match, generating one on a black background and one on a white background: 1h
training the LORA (Runpod): 1-2h
testing the LORA and generating the sample images, upscaling: 2h
(due to a bug in ostris/ai-toolkit I had to upload the lora to Civit, get the hash and manually change it, not sure if this fixes the problem, fingers crossed): 1h --- UPDATE: well turns out that was a waste of time as trying to fix it manually doesn't work as the hash changes. This means any images that are not posted directly to the LORA page will not be identified as using this lora
Total time spent on this proof of concept: ~8h
Trigger: made of pastry
Weight: ? - 1 (recommended 1)
If you haven't already, come get your Ds and check out my SDXL model merge (Dever's Divine Diffusion or DDD).
If you want to support me and my work make sure to submit any reviews and images directly to the LORA or MODEL page. Cross-posts do not currently award the creator any sort of buzz, this includes posting from the Create menu at the top (not cool, Civit please fix).
Alternatively you can purchase my badge called "Attention to details" in the CivitAi shop. Big badge warning :)
I hope you like it and remember to post your creations directly to the LORA page if possible.
Thank you <3
