Recommended Use
< See example images >
• Euler or Euler a or HeunPP2 or Restart sampler, 3 or ~3-6 cfg, ~28 steps
Some versions may also work well with:
• Euler a CFG++ sampler, SGM Uniform scheduler, ~2 cfg, ~28 steps
You can find additional sampler and schedulers via the ForgeUI/a1111 extension here.
---
Euler, 3 cfg, 28 steps is a good starting point for most versions
Hires fix - This is optional of course, and I recommend adjusting any use to your context and application. The example images utilize this both on and off.

Almond Milk
recommended to try Euler sampler first, (Euler, 3-4 cfg, 28 steps)
try artists and characters
Euler a may create 'splotchy' details at lower cfg values and depending on your prompts (positive and negative). Try increasing the cfg value or changing sampler to Euler.
Hi-res fix may also cause some of this effect at med-high denoise values.

Update - Almond Milk 🌿
Been great to see all the creative images everyone creates and is sharing. Thanks for trying out and providing feedback on the models 👍
I've got a bunch of versions lined up and prepared. Some older, and some really neat new ones. Just a matter of uploading and putting together images alongside balanced timing for releases.
Civitai has re-enabled on-site generation for all models again. This is, and is planned to be, enabled for each version - happy creating!
(this was disabled/reverted again by Civitai for the time being, possible in the future)
Additional resource information for each merge version is also planned.
Is the next one gonna be called cashew? 🤪
Thank you for doing these, i enjoy ur work!
Btw. any Illust1.0 Merges planned since its out for free now?
@jeanberry I haven't looked into the base illlustrious model since NoobAI and merges came around. Is this the one that is on Tensor.art that you're referring to? I primarily check the new listings here on Civitai for any potential new and interesting merge parts to test with.
@Ocean3 Illust 1.0 is also on Civit, was closed until yesterday, maybe check it out.
btw, I was asking because it supports higher Resolution Generating without upscaling.
why new version so noisy? it has "film grain" in absolutely every img
Try Euler instead of Euler a (or other samplers) if that's what you're using. Euler a may have some of that effect at lower cfg values or depending on prompt use. Also, hires-fix may cause some of this. You can try lower values there as well. A good base imo would be, Euler, 3-4 cfg, 28 steps as a starting point.
Character/artist utilization may mitigate some of that effect as well. Part of the version styling in some ways as far as texture goes I suppose.
Would you consider updating the 'vpred' version?
None of the models are vpred based models. Perhaps one of the older merge parts utilizes some form of a vpred model merged with eps based models in a very minor way, but that I'm not sure of. As far as adding a vpred based model, there are no plans for one.
@Ocean3 okk.Thank you for your reply and look forward to your new work :)
Thanks for the note on Euler a potentially causing "splotchiness", I've been noticing this recently and haven't been sure as to what was causing it (even on different checkpoints).
You saw that update quick 😄
And yes, this is something I noticed when testing this model and was anticipating mentioning. Not a lot of people use Euler that I've been seeing.
@Ocean3 Haha, I just clicked on this page at the right time. Regardless, thanks for the work on the model, looking forward to playing around with it! Flax was probably tied with Obsession v1.0 for my favorite out-of-box Illust/NoobAI checkpoint I've used. It gives such nice images for free!
@Kaligo731 Happy to hear, Flax is one of my favorites still as well. Hopefully some of the upcoming versions relay some of the same qualities or unique unto themselves.
General Notes (almond milk):
• recommended to try Euler sampler first, (Euler, 3-4 cfg, 28 steps)
• try artists and characters
• Euler a may create 'splotchy' details at lower cfg values and depending on your prompts (positive and negative). Try increasing the cfg value or changing sampler to Euler.
• Hi-res fix may also cause some of this effect at med-high denoise values.
Plantmilk: Almond.
After quite a bit of usage;
It's a 50/50. I like it, but I also like Flax.
Almond's lora functionality is better than Flax', but in terms of composition, it's a no. So I'll move back to Flax.
Yep, I like Flax better too. Each version isn't supposed to compete with another, they are meant to be different styles/flavors to try out, each being their own 👍
Based on my testing so far, I can confidently say that I absolutely love the Almond version! It feels more refined, especially in terms of artist styles and lighting.
That said, I think each version has its own strengths and isn’t meant to replace the other. In the end, I’ll be sticking to both Flax and Almond—though likely leaning more towards Almond.
@Ocean3 Thank you for the amazing work as always! Looking forward to future versions !!
Thanks for testing things out man and happy to hear that you've enjoyed them both - you've always got some awesome images 👍
I'll probably post a limited comparison of each version thus far. But yeah, Almond has some bolder coloring/lighting in comparison to Flax generally speaking.
@Ocean3 Yeah, I think posting a comparison showcasing the differences of each version goes a long way !
Oh, and thanks a lot for the tips. Appreciate the support, mate !!
Edit: seems like Flax Milk 🌿 currently has on-site generation enabled. I hadn't received any reply after inquiring, but seems like things are enabled for this version again!
Civitai has reversed full on-site generation for the time being, hopefully the feature is brought back in the future. More information: https://civitai.com/articles/12689
