José Luiz Benício da Fonseca, known as Benício, was a Brazilian illustrator and designer born on December 14, 1936, in Rio Pardo, Brazil. He became famous for his work in advertising, book covers, and movie posters, particularly during the 1960s and 70s. His illustrations often featured voluptuous women, earning him the title of the "master of Brazilian pin-ups".

Benício created over 300 movie posters, including iconic works for Brazilian cinema, such as Dona Flor e Seus Dois Maridos. He also designed thousands of book covers, notably for the Brigitte Montfort spy series. His career spanned more than 50 years, influencing Brazilian visual culture through his distinctive style.

He passed away on December 7, 2021, leaving behind a lasting artistic legacy
