    CyberRealistic XL Catalyst V2.0 (DMD2)

This is a special DMD2 edition of CyberRealistic XL Catalyst, rebuilt from the ground up and designed for faster, ultra-realistic results using fewer steps.
It’s a direct evolution of CyberRealistic V7.0, delivering next-level quality for both SFW and NSFW creations.

    Recommended Settings:

    • Sampler: LCM

    • Schedule Type: Exponential

    • Sampling steps: 8 (or 12 for extra detail)

    • CFG: 1.5

These settings are not the same as my regular SDXL workflow — be sure to adjust your pipeline!

    Hires.fix Settings:

    • ou can try using fewer Hires steps than your main Sampling steps.

    • Denoising Strength: Recommended range is 0.2 – 0.5.

    • Hires CFG Scale: You can keep it the same as your main CFG scale, or set it to 1.

CyberRealistic XL Catalyst is where SDXL gets weird in the best possible way. This isn’t some spotless showroom model. Think of it more like a wild test garage. Sparks fly, bolts get overtightened, and suddenly something totally unexpected comes roaring to life. It’s built on the same bones as CyberRealistic XL, but this version is packed with experimental tweaks. Catalyst is for anyone who actually likes a little chaos mixed in with their clarity.

Here, realism crashes right into raw unpredictability. Sometimes it’s brilliant, sometimes it’s just plain bizarre, and every now and then, it’s so off it actually loops back around to being awesome. Welcome to the lab.

    🧪 What’s New in Catalyst?

    • Realism is tuned in weird ways (it’s a bit less censored, and sometimes you’ll wonder what just happened)

    • Always changing, always mutating (no changelog, just new vibes and glitches every update)

    • Output can get wild, but when it nails it, it really nails it

Sampling method: DPM++ 2M SDE Karras
    VAE: is already Baked In
    Sampling steps: 30+ Steps
    Resolution: 832x1216 / 896x1152
    CFG: 3-5
    Clip Skip: 1
    Upscale: 1.5 upscale (0.3 - 0.35 denoise)
    Upscalers: 4x_NickelbackFS_72000_G / 4x_foolhardy_Remacri / 4x_NMKD-Siax_200k

    🧠 Prompting

    Example negative prompt:

cartoon, illustration, anime, painting, CGI, 3D render, low quality, watermark, logo, label

    or use CyberRealistic Negative

    🔧 ADetailer (Optional)

    Adetailer model: face_yolov9c.pt
If you only want the main face being refined set 'Mask only the top k largest' to 1.

    ⚠️ Keep It Ethical

Yes, Catalyst can be uncensored. That’s not a free pass — it’s a responsibility. Don’t misuse it.

    Description

The path to CyberRealistic XL v6.0 isn’t set in stone yet—so I’m releasing this alternative candidate to test different directions.

    • Catalyst 1.2 leans into natural, realistic skin tones with smoother textures and grounded color grading. It's more photographic and subtle.

    • Catalyst 1.3, on the other hand, takes a bolder approach: different tone mapping, stronger contrast, and a distinct feel in how color and lighting are rendered. It’s still realistic, but stylized in its own way.

I’m not yet sure which direction v6.0 will ultimately follow.

I like Catalyst V1.2 over V1.3 personally, some might feel different.

Still can adjust the color a bit to look more "pure", but looks amazing already, improving all the time.

Can't wait for 6.0, i'm sure it will be amazing at this rate of experimenting and adjustments you are doing, and clearly listening to the feedback also.

Your efforts are very much appreciated, thanks! <3

In general, increasing contrast in generation is fairly easy, reducing it.. not so much.

    EclipsiaJun 27, 2025· 2 reactions

@Mescalamba Yeah well, i am not a tech specialist (in anything tbh lol) about the fine details of checkpoints and their adjustments, i am but a humble user, who just gives feedback based on my personal preference on how i'd WISH some checkpoints would look with the colors/tints/contrast.

I know it's not easy, and never can same time satisfy everyone, since all have their own preferences, AND on top of that, people often see colors a bit differently to my knowledge, some people can see more distinct colors/hues, a bit like some some have more refined tasting ability.

So while "general opinion" of some checkpoint would be positive, there are always a few (often loud hih) who see it totally differently. So cannot ever get 100% satisfaction rate. Checkpoint/Lora creators here need a thick skin probably.

Most people who are satisfied silently enjoy using their creations, but the unhappy people are often the loud (and can be rude), still - even negative feedback is needed, to improve things. Here is good that here are people who can give constructive feedback.

Often can see also tho angry people who get bad results with checkpoints/Loras just due to clear "skill issues" though.

And i think actual "general contrast" in CyberrealisticXL checkpoints been amazing, some finetuning on the "tints" would wish from 99% of checkpoints, not CyberrealisticXL thing - but in general. Many are very good, close to perfect, but can always try go even further, right? ^^ And push to 10/10 points.

I really like CyberrealisticXL, catalyst 1.2 is fun, can get a bit surprising results compared to 5.8. Catalyst 1.2 is amazing, it does what you prompt, but can create many different kind of results with the same prompt, so it has variety same time it also does what you want. So it's fun and addictive to use.. gets wanted results, but also artistic and creative surprises. <3

@Eclipsia You like cold blue, thats your fun. But its not realistic at all. Thatswhy nobody tried color calibration on a base level.

If realistic look, more like this pic: flat and natural.

@breckonuzziah As said, each have their preferences. :) You have yours, and we all see colors a bit differently and prefer certain tints, even aesthetics.

To me the difference is like between Euler A and DPM++ 2M SDE with Karras, there is a clear difference to my eyes, same with the yellow/orange tints vs less of that, so it makes other colors to my eyes look more pure, crisp and skin textures look better, might have bias due to being a nordic person, so we have much more pale skins with actual slight blue tint painting our actual real life world during long winters, so it in my eyes makes things look more real.

The more things go yellow tint overly warm, the more to my eyes it looks like Florida (photos taken under that sun making everything yellow/orange tint) and overly tanned people. I like making all types, but if i get some solarium toasted orange skins and images that looks like 1970's retro images, i don't personally like that. I accept that some do. So not gonna try to change your mind. :) And no, you can't change my mind on this also, it's same as people enjoy different foods, your taste applies only to you.

My appreciation towards the creator of this checkpoint working for making and experimenting on different aesthetics and color schemes is why i am here. There is creativity and artistic approach and care in it. Love it!

I mean.. there already is a dozen "JuggernautXL's.", from different creators, that all look exactly the same, why would just 1to1 copy of another one? Doing something original, surprising, pushing things further.. There every now and then pops up a checkpoint like that, i can think of maybe 5 that been total game changers. And @Cyberdelia has made one of them. Or two to be honest. So can't wait for 6.0, no matter what direction it goes, i like the general style they got, that i cannot explain with my lack of technical terms.

@Eclipsia I saw a lot scandi movies, but even in cold winter they didnt look bluish:))) My Eyes:))

    MescalambaJun 28, 2025· 1 reaction

@Eclipsia I guess it wasnt obvious, but I was just agreeing with you.

I do prefer lower contrast checkpoints exactly for reason I mentioned. I can tune contrast up while creating image, but if checkpoint already has high contrast, I have no way to turn it down. Its baked in.

Simply, you are right. Lower contrast checkpoints FTW.

Based on the sample images, 1.3 leans too much into the "fake HDR" look for my taste. Merging it into 1.2 at like 20% strength might yield interesting results though.

Define weird. Are we talking ‘clown in fishnets juggling cucumbers on a unicycle in a foggy church’ weird? Because yeah, it handles that and then some. Pony might blink twice. This one stares back ;)

Just couple of my samples, but i SO enjoy what can do with it, and how the aesthetics, and pale skin etc can look, even with amber lighting of sunset. The vibe is just right for my eyes at least. It's addictive enough to make a hundred images per day. ^^

The checkpoint is dancing at the edge of perfection, like those summer memories we all have.

Wish you have an amazing summer day today. Making images got my mood vibing.

This version 1.2 (release candidate) is much better than 1.3 (RC). It looks more natural and realistic.

Although skin textures seems more defined in 1.3 but starts to fall off the edge, i mean the whole image begins to look unreal or "photoshopped".

1.2 is really great. There's something wrong with 1.3, it produces "deep fried" images with high contrast that look as if the CFG is too high, even when it isn't.

I have the same problem. Pictures in 1.3 look like HDR with high contrast

I love your Calalyst Version since it's the only alternative for your previous Classic Version to me. I also prefer 1.2 over 1.3 and agree to the other comments, that contrasts are too high in 1.3. It'd be something else if I'd prompt it to be in high contrast.
Is there any chance, that we also get an inpaint version of any Catalyst model?
