✨v2.3 ULTRA is a distinct variant of the standard v2.3.
While it technically improves overall output, my intention is to treat this version as experimental, exploring potential directions for future updates.

This release brings more natural and balanced lighting (also darkness), enhanced skin detail and an increased realism.

If you're using this model for Furry or Fur-based prompts, make sure to use the "Furry" trigger, or pair it with my Fur Enhancer LoRA for best results.

Looks like theres a bug in 2.1 with DPM++ 2M Karras, image is completely fried. Works perfect on SDE Karras.

Don't have this issue on 2.0 interestingly.

2.0 was not finished and was not the intended upload.
On the current version there are samplers that work worse than others.

What do you find better on 2.0? it was an undercooked version and it looked more like 1.0 than 1.1.
In my opinion the quality was not there and 2.1 has the same versatility with a lot more quality.

@ZyloO there's something wrong with 2.1 that leads it to not work with my normal settings, and i had to change samplers and cfg scale to get it to not deep fry. i don't know, it just doesn't cooperate like 2.0 does.

@spunkymcgoo Yep, some samplers don't work with this version. I'll look into it, and if I can fix it while maintaining the same quality, I'll update it. I think the trade-off of some samplers not working but having this level of quality is worth it, tho

Update: Working on it, the test works on most samplers but loses some detail, thinking about releasing as 2.1b, idk yet

sorry for double post, i believe i said it in a bad way, by 2 step lighting i meant the lighitng lora that makes the model to be used only as low as 2 steps

@adwqdqwfqfqw yep, DPO seems to work as AutismMix has it, but I have not seen any Pony Lightning models.
In my tests 2step does not work at all, 4 and 8 kinda, but it makes some weird things sometimes

greetings, i had to make another account as i forgot the other mail lol, i tested autismmix 4 steplighting, it was very very good at making images in 6 step and 1 cfg and 768 resulotion, i can't wait to try urs too when it is done, will be great if we know en eta

This is the best pony realism model I've worked with. When branch off of the main sampler loaded with ponyv6, I'm getting mostly similar pictures from the OG but photorealistic. Very nice.

Can the author or someone explain how that is? What's the relationship with ponyv6 to be able to get it that similar. It's almost like a style transfer.

It's a combination of model and lora merges, but in its core is still Pony v6, so the outputs will be similar.

This is my favorite realistic pony model yet! I'm still experimenting with samplers but so far I've gotten great results by rendering at 640x640 with 25 steps and hires.fix on at 1.5x with 16 steps, as well as adetailer. Going back and forth between DPM++ 2M SDE Karras and Exponential mostly.

Also, the variety of faces, backgrounds, and other details feels greater than any other pony realistic model I've tried. This is really solid work all around. Thank you!

After some more testing today I think DPM++ 2M SDE Karras is my favorite, and the only thing I changed since then was hires steps bumped to 18. I don't see any more glitches with this model than others, it's probably the most stable in fact. Again, this is outstanding, congrats!

Amazing job on v2.1! This is now my favorite generalist Pony realism model :)

I used to find that this model lacked clarity (too much film grain effect) and additionally lacked the expressiveness/creativity of Pony (it was "realistic" in a boring way).

But now it's just perfect, super crisp & realistic images, and all the creativity you expect from Pony. Thanks!!

Do you have any hints on the proper settings for training a LoRA using your model, esspecially with the onsite-trainer here at civitai?

I have not yet started to test LoRa training with the model, when I have something stable I will post it here.

I don't know if it will be useful for the onsite trainer as I have never used it, it will be most likely for kohya_ss.

Meanwhile you can try to train for base SDXL and see if it works on this model, that's how I created the LoRa for Pony Amateur.

Hi there! Great model so far. Really incredible detail and ease of use. Question tho: Using version 2.1 VAE, do you recommend leaving the VAE setting in Automatic1111 set to "automatic", or "off"?
